Even with the full shop manual, there is no step by step on the oil change. Plus the factory oil filter was really put on tight.

Oil Change
Use 5w20 oil
3.45 qts with filter change
warm the engine ten minutes at idle or hot from driving
shut the engine off
turn wheel full right - gives you a space to work on the drain plug
jack up car on passenger side front jack point about half way up the jack
remove side guard plastic in the wheel well - 2 bolts 10mm
remove lower plastic guard 6 bolts 12mm
drain plug is on the passenger side rear of the oil pan
loosen oil fill cap
remove drain plug 17 mm and gasket - steel washer
discard gasket
lower car on jack stand to minimum
let the oil drain
replace drain plug with new gasket and torque to 35 NM
move drain pan to under oil filter
jack the car back up
remove oil filter
lower the car on jack stand
coat new oil filter rubber gasket with clean oil
replace oil filter 15 NM or hand tight plus half turn
add oil - 3.4 qts.
check for leaks

Don't do that, sometimes they just rip off the sheet metal and leave the filter base on there. Then what do you do?

Do yourself a favor and go out and buy a socket type filter wrench, works like a charm, never fails.
