Hi all

I am going to test drive the i10 this afternoon, anything I should look out for or ask?

I also have a dilemma I have on order (1 month) Oyster Grey which I am now told could be delivered in January BUT I could have this Silver one I am going to test drive - what would you do.

I have to say I was not going to have a Silver car, too many on the roads would you wait?

I know, I know it's personal desicion but would be interested in what you think.

I would say that you should take the silver one now - you won't regret it.

Which model are you going for?

Cheers.......

BusyDee,

You won't be able to test drive the Oyster Grey i10 before handing over the dosh. VAT is also going up in January.

Test drive the Silver one thoroughly. Make doubly sure the infamous clutch is not juddering. Then inspect all the other things. If all is to your satisfaction, buy the blessed thing. In the current climate, much better to grab a perfect car of the 'wrong' colour than gamble on ending up with a problematic one of the 'right' colour!

I agree with the other posters. Not to mention that you might not actually get that oyster grey in Jan!

Hi

Many thanks for your reply.

I did not get any replies before I had to leave for the test drive and I did reject it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) now after reading the posts I am not sure I have done the right thing.

It is the Comfort I ordered and it was a Comfort I drove yesterday.

Hiya

Oh no, I had not realised it was January that Vat goes back up in January. I did not notice any juddering on the clutch but to be honest it was not a very long test drive and I had already decided not to buy it so was just getting the overall feel .

Is the word out that the batches that are perhaps being 'hurried through' will have more than there fair share of faults?

In a real dither now.

So not sure now. I just think there are so many Silver cars on the road and the Grey car looks that bit smarter - I think.

Which model do you have.

I'm a bit green I know but how can that be if that is what I ordered, I have entered into a contract with my garage to supply that car and in that colour. I am assuming you mean it could be Jan, Feb or any other month there after

Silver i10 is now sold so that is no longer in the equation.

There is however an Oyster Grey i30 Comfort for £8380 on the road but do I want the i30!, road tax is £125 so no saving in the long run for me there against what I am paying now and a much bigger spend than I had planned for.

I have checked with my garage about the VAT increase and even if my car arrives in January I will not have to pay the additional percent.
