sounds like you could have a problem with the air flow meter (this would not normally trigger the CEL)

as to your other point, try re-setting the ECU. dis-connect the negative terminal from the battery, pump the brake pedel a dozen times to get out all remaining power from the system, re-connect the battery and drive gently for half an hour on clear roads so that the ECU can adapt to new driving conditions

this is the difinition from the Hyundai manual

P1191 ETS Limp Home Valve On
P1193 ETS Limp Home - Low Rpm
You have a problem with the throttle sensor.

what do i do now my rpm will shift really low when the ac is on and i tap the throttle and ull hear a hiss coming from the intake and the rpms will spike up and down while driving and kinda bobble around. What Do I DO i do have money for another maf but i need to be sure or do I check elsewhere

sounds like you are having issues with more than one thing. Like montego mentioned, you may have ETS(TPS) problems aside from MAF problems. What type of code reader are you using. Does it give live data readings for the MAF for example mine gives g/s for the MAF. Try resetting your ETS/TPS by turning the key on and off within 1 second and wait 15 seconds till your hear something click. See if that helps. Unfortunatly the XG is what I believe to be the first problem car since the Excel with it's ETS,EGR and Variable induction intake system. Not that the new mini vans are any better with all them **** modules. But I love my XG.

Hi thafinestxg300

Just wanted to ask if you got your problem fixed or not. I am having the same problem, ( Rough idle, low rpm with A/C on, engine bubbling etc)

I had the same code P1191 and P1193. Changed the throttle sensor with brand new but problem still there.

Could you please update us how did you get your problem fixed? What you had to change etc.

Thanks

it's hard to figure out what causes this even with a mechanic leaning over your engine bay. It seems that with the XG, everyting can cause this. Most all the sensors work together and if one fails it will make other sensors seem as if they are the ones causing the problems. Someone should make a "Sticky" thread for these concerns as their are tons of them and and even though it's sounds strange, I believe they are all cause by the same faulty part in most cases. So who wants to start a sticky thread, I can help.

Hello mac1

Its true what you wrote in your post above. I am totally agree with you. For this thread, we sure need help from all senior members, Admin and their experiences.I am willing to help.
I found many thread starting with this problem but they are all half way around and no solution for Code P1191 and P1193. It gets very expensive to changing the parts and sensors without actually knowing which is actually making problem.

Dear Montego what you say how can we proceed for this to save us time, money and conclude this exact problem?

Thanks

Sheraz

if you want to start a sticky that's fine......if you need any help just ask (l have also had the same problem in the past with one of mine but it somehow cured itself after a while and l did not ever find the exact cause)

OK ALL LISTEN TO THIS. IT WAS THE MAF FOR 1193 AND 91 CODE MY FRIEND THATS GOING TO ATI TESTED IN THE WEIRDEST WAY HE TAPPED THE **** SENSOR (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif) AND THE CAR WENT NUTS AND CONTINUED RUNNING RICH. NOW FROM MY EXPERIENCE AND MONT. YOU WHERE CORRECT ABOUT THE MAF JUST A NOTE THE MAF MAKES DUMB THINGS ACT UP IN THE CAR. OK SO NOW WE ARE RUNNING BUT I STILL GOT A FEW PROBLEMS BESIDE THE FACT I HAD A BLOW OUT ON THE CAR SO I HAVE'NT BEEN ON. SO THEY ARE ITS STILL WHEN IM RACING OR DRIVING HARD AND COME TO A STOP THE CAR WILL MOST OF THE TIME EITHER WHEN I STOP RPMS WILL DROP LOW U FEEL THE JERKING OR JUST DROP AND TURN OF BUT STARTS RIGHT BACK UP. GAS IS STILL 220 MILES ON A FILL UP AND UNDER ACCEL. LOW RMPS OR HIGH SPEEDS WITH A LIGHT UP AND DOWN ROAD YOU WILL FEEL A VIBRATION AROUND THE CAR AND STEERING WILL SHAKE ANY IDEAS AND I HOPE I WAS A LITTLE HELPFULL.
ok new up date the car as far as bogging now it will do it when shitftin or sudden stop it bogg drop rmp and like i said sometime turn off. as we ll when i am crusing i get a bad vibration when it under load and lighter when off the gas but it is a shake ans as well when u go from a light the wheel moves back and forth
THANKS FOR UR HELP

BUT WOW TAPPING THE SENSOR HMMM
