My fuel pump only pumps when the starter is engaged and after the engine starts. It takes 20 seconds for the engine to start and I assume it's because the fuel pump doesn't pump up fuel pressure when the key is turned on. I can't find anything that shows me the fuel pump relay or fuse location. My Haynes manual and the on-line forums all refer to it but nothing about where it's located. I've looked everywhere and can't find a single fuse or relay marked FUEL PUMP. Thanks for any help you can give me.

It's under the dash, driver's side, next to the ecm. The relay is the middle one. If you want to test it, you can swap the start relay in the main box right side with the fuel relay. they use the same part number.

Thanks for your help. I removed the middle relay and compared it to my starter relay part # and the first 5 numbers were the same but the last 5 are different so I will wait until my dealer opens on Monday and buy a new one. My relay prongs look bluish purple on the tips so it appears thats not normal compared to the other relay. I assume something fried my relay. If it's fried how does the fuel pump operate without. I assume the fuel pump is getting power from another source. The car runs fine once you crank the starter for 30 seconds to get it started.

The starter relay was 95224-29050 and my fuel pump relay was 95224-29000. All the black relays under the hood are 95224-29050 and the under dash relays were 95224-29000.

FYI. Bought a new fuel pump relay today from the Hyundai dealer, cost $15.00 with tax. The part # 95224-29000 was superseded by 95224-29800. Replacing the relay did not solve my long cold starting problem.
