Fog light has burnt out on me 08 gls. What is the number? I tried looking in the manual, all they give is the wattage. I could take it out and then drive to a auto part store. But I rather have the new one before I take out the old one.

cheers Kayakman

That is good information to know, since it doesn't seem to be in the owners manual. I also couldn't find anythng in the bulb manufacturers cross reference charts for the 08 Elantra fog lamp bulb. From what I can tell, the H27 is the same as the 880 or 881 bulbs (Sylvania and GE). The 880 has a strait base and the 881 has a right angle base. I am guessing the 881 is the correct one. Let us know what you find. Thanks for the post.

Edit: As I was researching this, I ran across this post in the Sonata forum: http://www.hyundai-forums.com/index.php?showtopic=19475. It would appear that you want to avoid the higher wattage 896 bulbs.

I was looking in the owners manual for my 07 and it says to contact the dealer if the bulb went out.. I tried taking it out myself so I could just take it to Advance but I couldn't get the dumb thing out... How do you even get the bulb out of the housing?

Thanks for the info on the bulb also!

@skiddyk - The bulb removal procedure is shown in the shop manual. If you haven't already done so, you can sign up for access to the shop manuals at http://www.hmaservice.com/.

It is interesting that the shop manual does not give the bulb type either, but lists the wattage as 27 for the fog lamps. The GE 881 bulb is listed as 32.

The original bulb was an GE and the new one is a Philips from the dealership. It's a 881.

cheers
