Accent Se Replacement Tires Options

Hi again, two posts in my first day! I am going to need to replace the tires on my 08 Accent SE in the next couple of months and would be interested in any recommendations. I need all-season tires and the comfortable ride, low noise, and wet traction are probably most important aspects. I wasn't very impressed with the Kumho Solus 16 factory tires. According to the Kumho website, the Ecsta AST or ASX are recommended. Also found Fuzion ZRi in the 205/4516 size.

The car has the factory wheels.

I had so many problems with my stock solus tires. Always had a bubble when i went over pot holes, so i looking into the Ecsta's. My boyfriend has been using them for close to 20,000 miles. He loves them, but I was scared because of the fact that i has a bad experience with the Solus. I was looking at falken wheels, and they had a recommendation for the Falken Ziex Ze 912 in a package. They had amazing reviews, some people claiming they get 40,000-45,000 miles on them, so i purchased them as a package. I have been driving on them, with the same pot holes (although i try to avoid them), for 27,000 miles, and I still have a lot of tread left. The best part is, I haven't had a bubble since. The traction is so much better then the the ride is smoother. I did change the tire size to 205/55/r15 so that may account for the smoother ride. The road noise isnt bad, but it was slightly louder in my opinion then the solus.

I would buy the Falken Ziex Ze 912's again, but the Ecsta ASX is the one my boyfriend drives on and he says he will buy the same ones again if available. hope it helps?

I have found that the Kumho's have been very good tires. They are also very reasonably priced. At replacement time I'll go back with them. I'm a big fan of Bridgestones.

For all season, I would go with the ASX over the AST. Kuhmo makes an awesome tire.

i'm holding out for 30,000 miles before replacement on my 08 SE, should be next month. i REALLY liked the stock tires that it came with, until about the 25K mile mark. HYDROplaning like crazy!!! driving down the turnpike on a VERY rainy day i could run up to 52mph and be fine, as soon as i hit 53mph the front would lift. i tested it many, many times and everytime it was that magic 53mph that lifted the front. i ride the track on my sportbike so i'm pretty good at feeling what the tires are doing. when it would lift it was very controllable, it didn't jerk to the left or right, stayed straight as i would accelerate up to around 60 or so mph. when i would slow back down, and hit 52mph i could feel the tires touch the asphalt again. a few day's later it rained again, repeat ^ story.

i'm kinda leaning towards a different brand next time, probably B'stones, or michelin's. althought the price of the stock one's are tough to beat. i think they're rated at 400 treadwear, AA, A tought to beat those ratings, for that price.

I love the Pirelli Cinturato P5's I got for summer, 30,000 kms not rotated once and barely any wear.
Great in the wet,dry and gravel.
I recommend them, my tire size 185/6514 doesnt have the solid rib in the middle, but a deep water channel.

Hey I am wondering if you could help me out. I have the same car and it came with the Kumho 16 inch tires. Im looking to get a new set of tires for the winter, I think Im just gonna go with some all seasons tires. Now I dont really care about the brand of tire, Im just wondering if you know all the options of tires sizes I can use. I would like to drop down to a smaller rim if possible to cut the cost of tires. I figure I could go with a 15 inch rim, but could I even put a 14inch rim on there? Or would the bolts not line up?Just let me know if you have any knowledge on the subject. Thanks.

Tire size for my car according to my dealer for 14" is 185/65R14. I ordered a set off 1010tires.com. A good option is the Falken Eurowinter HS439 (which is what I got). They had great reviews, and were quite affordable too. 14" rims should be fine. Be sure you get steelies with a 4x100 bolt pattern.

I would discourage you from getting all seasons: as many others have said, all season tires are good for all seasons, except winter. Also, by having winter tires on different rims, you will prevent your tires from wearing out pre-maturely due to taking them on and off the rims repeatedly.

In my opinion, tires are the most important part of a vehicle. They are what keep you on the road. Don't cheap out on tires; it could cost you quite a bit of stopping distance, and potential damage to your car in the case of a crash.

I'm not too sure. Best advice I could give you is to call your hyundai dealership and ask.

Try to stay at 185 or lower, narrower tires have better bite in the winter.
For safetys sake install 4 winter tires not just two.
