Sonata is an excellent used car if it's maintained right... much lower resale value than Honda & Toyota but just as reliable from my experience... a former Toyota owner.
It's great everyday communter car and doesn't require much maintenance (no timing belt on 2006 & later), 4 wheel discs that seems to last longer (2006 & later) than many cars, seats so far have not sagged and haven't had any problems on my 07 so far except for 1 defective pwr window switch replaced quickly under warranty.

Also the 2003 Sonata is running very well and reliably after 6 years. Feels solid. Only problems was 1 chrome door handle that started to peel... was replaced underwarranty years ago and has not reoccurred, front rotors warped badly & quickly so replaced them w aftermarket rotors at 1st brake job...smooth ever since.

An 06 Sonata V6 with 57K?............I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to buy it................And for $7500, I would have (but I'm a smoker).
My 07 Sonata I4 spent the first 31K of its life as a rental. It was a little ruff around the edges but good enough for me. Year and a half later she now has 89K on her and still going strong with no issues (I don't consider replacing brake pads an issue and I do my own work/maintainance anyway).

Wow...

$7,500 for an '06 Sonata V6 ?

I've been researching about prices for the '06 Sonata a lot and I just bought mine yesterday for $10,500 Out the Door, with 52,000 miles on it...

It sounds like it's too good to be true. The trade in is probably around $8,500 so even if you're buying it from a private party, it shouldn't be that cheap, otherwise they would rather sell it as a trade in than find a private buyer.

There may be something wrong with it. Have you checked carfax or autocheck? I saw an ad for an '07 Sonata V6 with 30k miles for $8,000 but after ordering an autocheck report, I realized why... If you want, PM me and I can probably check the autocheck for you. (Still have the subscription).

Welcome Roach. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/00000732.gif) I would say the 06 might have been the finest year on record for the new NF Sonata (IMG:style_emoticons/default/trophy.gif)

I bought mine with 50,000 km (31,000 mi) from a rental car agency . I couldn't find any previous maintenance records so I spent close to $1,000 to be sure I wasn't going to have any future problems.

Fuel filter, air filter (one of the dirtiest I have ever seen), cabin filter, replace transmission fluid, full detailing and rear brake pads. The car is a joy to drive specially when using the automatic transmission in sport mode (IMG:style_emoticons/default/banana.gif) . The only problem was last summer with a cracked vanity mirror that was replaced under warranty.

I have owned Toyota, Honda, Kia and Chevrolet and I can tell you this is perhaps the best car I have owned so far. I will put second my still running Chevy Lumina, one of those American cars that regularly maintained will last forever.
