Hello everyone. I decided to ask the experts and current owners. I'll be frank with you, I've never had a Hyundai before but I found a very nice '06 Sonata V6 with 57,000 miles on it and one-owner. I will test drive it tomorrow, what should I look for ? Any specific problems ? The 10 years / 100K miles warranty is not transferable, what about the 5 years / 60K miles ? I've heard excellent comments and very bad comments about Hyundais, however, it appears that the bad comments are from people that actually never owned one. Thanks for any help. Soon I may change my name to HyundaiSonataOnwer (IMG: style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif) (but for now, I'm still a little skeptical about owning a Hyundai). Should I ? Thanks for your comments. Really appreciated.

QUOTE (elwaylite @ Oct 5 2009, 04:00 PM) My 07 2.4L now has over 60k miles on it and still runs great. Only issues I have had are a couple of recalls and a bad o2 sensor. Other than the carfax, my only concern would be the tranny, and have they performed proper fluid changes on it. The engines are pretty good, so not as much to worry about. Thank you guys for the feedback. The asking price is $7,400. I test drove it today and it has a clear CARFAX, but the car is not in a very good shape. It drives nice, but it was a rental and the car is not in good shape specially inside. I can not drive a smoker's car, sorry. Anyway, I will keep the Sonata in my list, but not this one. Thank you. I will post in case I find another one.

QUOTE (V6 Sonata @ Oct 6 2009, 01:57 PM) Don't stay away just do your research.People like Elwaylite probably have had a bad experience but let me tell you i bought my sonata with 22k previous rental it now has 59k and i have not had a single problem with it.The leather was well maintained but head liner and carpets were dirty no biggie had the dealer do a full inside and out detail car was brand new again. All you need to do is research and you will be fine, there are plenty of members on this forum that have previous rentals and are happy with them. Yes he brought that up about 3 Weeks ago on our last Sonata Rental thread. You were there, and so was Elwaylite! Me too!

OK, I agree. I believe that a CARFAX can tell you a lot about the car. Also, having the 5 yr. 60K miles transfer option for the 2nd owner is pretty good. I found a '07 Sonata today with 16,000 miles, beautiful car, but not in my budget. They're asking $10,900. It's a 4 cyl. GLS. Nice car. I will keep my search.

I would get a V6 if its well taken care of (as mine) i only see about a 3 to 5 mpg difference between the I4 and V6,Love my V6,$10,900 to much for a I4...also if you get lucky a service contract can be written up(better luck if your buying a used Hyundai from a Hyundai dealer) i have the 120,000 mile warranty well 100,000 with a $0 deductible.Anythings possible just gotta fight for it.

They will either be fairly new, or very nearly worn out. Also, the coolant should have been draned and flushed to prevent premature falilure of the radiator. The CV joint boots should be intact. If they are cracked or torn, the CV joints may have gotten wet and muddy, which can cause early failure.

Howdy, I have an 06 V6 and it runs like a champ with 80K on it. I get around 26 mpg avg with highs of 31 on trips. I have had 4 Hyundai vehicles to date and have had no problems. I drive an 08 Tiburon SE V6 and let the wife have the Sonata. Wish I had the 3.3 in the Tib. Ray (IMG: style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif)
