As we all should know, the Hyundai Excel (X2) shares not only it's frame design with cars of another name / manufacturer, but it also shares much of the engine's mechanical parts. The purpose of this thread is to start a running list of components that can be swapped ONE-FOR-ONE with the Excel X2. To my knowledge the Colt, Sprint, and the Pony are all basically the same car. But, since I have not performed any swap myself, I cannot attest that any of the components of these vehicles are interchangeable. This thread is for all of you out there that have actually performed a transplant to help out us other poor saps. Which vehicles can we source our replacement parts from? I'm talking anything here (rims, grills, dash clusters, engine hardware, anything!)

BTW - I am hoping some one will post a direct replacement for the intake rod shaft of an X2... I discovered mine is broken today after an epic loss of acceleration (and many people waving fists). Here's the link to THAT POST. Thank you all for reading this and please participate.

Interesting as I had my exhaust rocker shaft break and I went to a company called pick-a part in New Zealand and I looked under the hood of a Mitshubisi and it is an identical motor, but sorry I cannot think of the model as it was partly stripped, but I pulled the exhaust rocker and my XL is running again, cost me $8 and as cheap as chips, the Mitsbuhisi had the bonnet opening from the windscreen end (pick-a-part you pull the parts yourself).

So check a Mitshubishi Auto wrecker...we have another tsunami heading towards new Zealand, the second big shake in the pacific in the last few weeks, Samoa and American Samoa was hit and Tonga now its Vanuatu....just in case you didn't know....Good luck finding the part
