My Accent developed an interesting problem. If the lights are left in "on" position, once in a while it will turn the parking lights on, and drain the battery over time. I notices it doing it 3 times over the summer. I know the lights are off when I leave the car, but come on by them selves at random times and stay on, leaving me with a nasty surprise when I try to start my car. It hasn't done this before, so what's going on? If anyone had the same issue with their 08, please chime in. Thanks.

PS. I do turn them off now before I get out of the car.

My guess is you have a fault in your multiswitch on the steering column which causes voltage leakage. It's important to fix it because a voltage leak like that can lead to your car spontaneously catching fire for no apparent reason. I'd take it to the dealer since it's still under warranty.

I too just got this problem the other day. Normally the parking lights switch off once the door is opened. But it seems that if i open it again, they come back on, and then I have a dead battery.
