My dealer has no confirmed delivery date for my electric red car yet but did have a date for a stone black with no order against it. As I do need the car sooner rather than later, I have changed my order to the black one (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

It may only knock a couple of weeks off delivery time and cost me £355 extra but I'm too impatient and have been flogging junk from my garage and made a bit of extra cash to cover the difference (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I cant wait to get it now, using my mum's old Mitsubishi Carisma to tide me over at the moment.

Absolutely the same for me as well. I needed to do very important missions, and found myself having to pay 350-00 for a black one, but I'm glad coz I then I dont have to go messing around with car hires, etc etc.. Black will retain its value, so I heard, is this true?

Maybe. I base this on the fact that the only other i10s I have seen in three months have all been red (mine is silver).

Absolutely furious (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rant2.gif)

I can't have the black car now because it's already been sold to somebody else.

Apparently... 'a mess up in the system had taken the name off the black car that actually was allocated already'.

So now I have to have the red that I originally ordered and I have to wait until the end of October for it.

What else can I do other than wait? They already have my old car ready to be scrapped and there won't be anywhere else in the country that can get me a black one I suspect.

I only ordered the red because I couldn't afford the metallic at the time but my situation changed last week so I was pleased when the order changed to black. Now I am actually disappointed to be getting red. You shouldn't have any disappointment when you buy your first ever new car (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Gutted! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Sounds to me like they owe you a courtesy car for the next four weeks. A nice little second-hand trade-in to see you through shouldn't hurt them.........

Well, I wasn't ready to accept defeat so I rang Hyundai UK Customer Services and dealt with a wonderful girl called Louise. After phonecalls backwards and forwards all day between Louise, myself and the dealership, a black car is now allocated to me and will be ready for collection around the 6th October. I don't want to know where this magical black car appeared from, I'm just happy that I have it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) A very successful end to what I thought would be a disappointing day (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
