Hello,
Over the past three or four months I have noticed small white patches on the hood, roof, and trunk of my black 2002 Elantra. These area's are growing in size and number and I can see that in the worst spots it's down to the e-coat (prime/base/clear coat is gone).
I realize this probably because I live in Georgia and the car is ALWAYS outside with no shade at my house and my work and I've waxed it maybe 10 times in it's entire life. So for sure, it's my own fault and not related to a Hyundai quality issue.
question is, what do I do now? There are some bare spots as big as the palm of my hand and it's gonna look pretty ghetto soon! I'm open to respraying the entire car because I'd like to keep it for another 2 or 3 years but my budget is tight. I'd be looking to spend no more than $1000. Besides a total respray do you think there is anything else I could do, perhaps even myself?
tia,
sani
