Hi all, the i10 is a great car and goes well, the only thing is the steering wheel is the one thing you have to hold for hours on end, I hate most diy attachments but a leather cover might be better than the cheap plastic material feel that mine is made out.
Any ideas
Chris

I agree Chris

Had my i10 for 2 months now and absolutely delighted with it. Roomy, economical, great to drive - but the steering wheel !!!!!!!!

Thinking of a leather cover myself

I bought a leather cover from Halfords - the type you sew on.

What's good:
Fits the wheel, feels good

What's bad: the fit isn't perfect - cover slightly too big.

Any my wife has come back, decided that the fit means the cover will have to come off - and she will get a cover from our local Hyundai dealer.

Do Hyundai sell a cover specific to the i10? Or just a generic Hyundai one?

I fitted that sort of cover to my previous car and it looked OK. I was intending to do the same thing *when* my i10 arrives. Do you know which size cover you tried? - It looks like one to avoid having seen your later post regarding the fit (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Looks like it going to me to find a good fit leather steering wheel cover on the internet, keep away from a steel knob on the gearstick, very cold in the winter.
Keep you posted, Hyundai must read the feedback on the forum, we hate the wheel and knob but still got the car.

Anyone order a Style? That comes with a leather steering wheel, but I used to have a leather cover on the steering wheel in my van before some eejit in a lorry travelling at 45mph took me and 8 other cars off the road.

Read in Autocar last week that they felt the same way about the steering wheel on their long term i10 and took it in to their dealer and had a leather wheel and gear nob retro fitted for about £150.
