Paintwork...... Options

I have just given my i10 it's first 'real' clean and I noticed that on the inside of the rear 'hatch', where the hand-pull (for closing the hatch) is, there appears to be no clear-coat over the paintwork. It's like this all the way along what is the bottom edge of the hatch. I mean, it's still red but just not 'glossy'. I was wondering if this is how it's meant to be.......Is it the same on your i10? Did your new car arrive with any paint defects?

My Alpine blue i10 is the same. You will also find that the underside of the bonnet and engine compartment don't have clear coat either. These days to save on cost car makers tend not to clear coat the bits you don't normally see.

........ so it apears to be the norm then. Oh, and thanks for looking.
I think i'll just give it a good waxing to protect it.
