Hi all
This thread has really made me laugh! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cheer.gif)

Just before we ordered our i10 I asked my husband whether he thought it was a bit of an old person's car (I have previously had Corsas and have been told they were OAPs cars). He told me not to be silly. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush.gif)

On the way home we stopped at the local supermarket and parked next to the first i10 we'd ever seen outside of the showroom. Just as we were getting out of the car the oldest looking lady I've ever seen (I don't want to sound mean, but doddery doesn't come anywhere near to covering it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laughing.gif) ) got (very slowly!) into the i10.

We just looked at each other. My husband said nothing. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

(BTW I'm 41, husband is 42 - looking forward to getting new i10, hopefully in January - fingers crossed!)

I'm a month short of 60 so I suppose the i10 is my retirement car. But my other vehicle is a VW Campervan which makes me feel slightly younger than my years (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grin.gif)

I'm 42 and 1.5 months.

I don't think the i10's an 'old' person's car (although to the 26-year-old drivers I'll seem that way). My parents like going out in the i10 when I visit them though, something to do with the headroom and grab-handles above the doors, and they have a particular fascination with the way the rear seats fold down. God knows. Anyway, I thought the (even older than me) generation went for Micras or latterly the Honda Jazz.

What I'm stunned with is the turning circle (that does make me sound a bit old, actually, but I was once a van driver - turning circles mattered!) I've never had a car that can turn in such a small space. I had a Fiat Punto hire car many years ago (M-reg) which came close, but I don't think as close. Other pluses are the £35 car tax (£30 next year, although I suspect that will change) and the fact the i10's fully comp insurance is cheaper than the 3rd-party insurance for my previous 1994 bog-standard non-turbo Golf MK-3 diesel.

Friends look at what you get for the money with the i10 and are a bit stunned. And then you repeat, "£35 road tax".

If I could just nail how to get the mpg to go up..
