Noise From Front Hood Options

Hello!
Owner of black 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe GL 3.3 owner here (from Canada). Car has been pretty great so far, I really enjoy driving it.
But I have experienced some problems so far I actually read your forum covered. I had the airbag and alarm issue where the airbag light will turn on, and the alarm will stop working. I also had noise coming from the front suspension when i went over small bumps. I'm glad my dealer ironed those problems out (after a few tries though). Thanks to this forum to, as I did look to your threads for advice! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

But a kind of new problem I noticed some owners on this forum had is rattling coming from the hood over small bumps. It doesn't quite match what you guys have stated. But I noticed the rattle when i go over small bumps when only turning right, but not when turning left or going straight through a bump. Its just a quick maybe 3-5 second or so rattle. I heard it a while ago and kind of ignored it until I read some owners on this forum experienced this problem. I believe some of you guys replaced your sway bar or something? I decided to try and tackle this issue now and maybe some of you know whats wrong before i bring it to the dealer. I really don't want them to waste my time and here them say there is nothing wrong like before. I'd like to come with maybe a suggestion of what I think is wrong.

Have you ruled out the ABS self-test as a possible cause of the noise? A brief rattle under the hood is normal when you first accelerate after starting the engine, although any association with right turns would be purely coincidental.

Failing that, it could indeed be a sway bar or other steering/suspension component. Should be covered under warranty. I'd find a right turn near the dealership where the noise can be reliably duplicated, then ask for a mechanic to accompany you on a ride. That would be the best use of your time, as well as that of the mechanic.
