Hey everyone, first-timer here.

So here's the deal. I'm coming home from Iraq in August, so I'll have a little bit of money to throw towards it, but I have a 2006 Hyundai Accent, and I need a way to use my iPod to listen to podcasts and whatnot on my commute to and from school. Everywhere I look online, adapters are only made for 2008+ Accents. Is there any way to install an auxiliary port or something besides buying one of those cheap tuner things that require a weak radio station? I'd like to keep my factory radio, but if that's not possible I'd want it sharp looking and not too fancy. Thanks in advance!

Bad news, I don't know of anyway to do that. You'll have to get a new deck.

You could just buy a cheap headunit. There are tons of inexpensive headunits that have an Aux In.

This is a last resort, but you can purchase an audio-sensing FM modulator. Basically, when the output of your ipod exceeds 75% of its max output, the wired modulator will power on and you tune the factory stereo to an FM frequency, usually 87.9 or 88.1. Don't get this confused with the wireless devices that plug into the cigarette lighter. I do recommend replacing the factory receiver with an aftermarket for the unlimited benefits, but if you want to keep the stock unit this is the way I would go. That way there is no external switch you have to flip to power the modulator. Keep in mind that the frequency response will be limited to FM "quality", so if you have an amp or stock speakers, you will have poor audio quality.

If the wiring is the same, I'll send a soldier my 08 OEM deck free.

That'd be great, but first I'll have to determine if the wiring is indeed the same. Like I said, I won't return home until August so it will be in about a month...

Hey, I imagine the wiring is the same for the two. I wouldn't know what I'm looking for, but I believe from the pictures I've seen, that the two look similar. Is that offer still on the table?
