hey I know this is a really simple question but i was thinking of getting some new speakers for my 1998 accent and was wondering about the speaker grills. I tried to just pull them off and they seemed really on there. Just wanted to make sure there were no hidden screws or anything before i just pulled them off as hard as i could. also, anyone know the sizes of the speakers? thanks!

Since it's been two days and no one has commented, I'll throw my two cents in... I have a two door hatch back and have had one of the door panels off of my car twice, when the window has come off the track, but do not remember if there are screws or mounts of any kind on the inside of the door panel for the speaker grills. Before you just rip them off, it may be worth your while to remove the door panel and look behind. You'll most likely need to open that up to remove the old speakers and wire the new ones in anyway.

This is old I know but just in case...
The speaker grill is screwed on from the back of the door skin. You'll have to take of you door skin to unscrew them from the other side. From memory they're about 4 inch speakers. Theres only three mounting screws on the other side of mine which doesn't line up to any normal speakers so you'll need to make or buy an mdf speaker spacer and drill appropriate holes into it to mount bigger speakers. I made some and it works great and it also helps mount bigger speakers better. Be aware bigger speakers may affect your door skin as hole to the front is smaller than most good speakers so you'll need to cut out more space in your skin too. I found it easier just to make new door skins, recover them and get external speaker spacers so speakers are on the outside of the door instead of inside it.
Hope it helps
