I'm installing an aux input to the back of the factory head unit of my '08 Sonata GLS and would like to route the cable to the small compartment just below the climate controls on the center panel. I've removed the trim strip so that I could get at the head unit --- this exposes two screws that hold the top edge of the center panel. I've removed these, but there seem to be other places where it is held in place. How can I get access to the rear of that compartment so that I can mount the aux in connector (a 3.5 mm stereo socket for an MP3 player)?

Thanks, Brian

If the 08 is the same as the 06 then it just pops right out. There is a little trim (mine is silver like the main one) that surrounds the climate control and that cubby. Just gently pry it out using a small knife or screwdriver starting at the bottom. There are like 2-3 tabs on the bottom and a couple on the top part. Once you get it started it comes out easily. Then just unclip the plugs to the climate control and there you have it. 10 minutes max. That's where I ran my ipod connector.

Good instructions, hideftv. A butter knife works well.
