I am trying to install H11 HID lights on a H11B system. When I opened my headlight, both wires connected to the H11B Connector was yellow. Does anyone know how I can determine which wire is + or - based on the location in the connector?

I need this information to connect the wires together. I'm hoping for a solution without a multimeter...

They're both yellow? One doesn't have a black stripe on it? Black stripe would be negative polarity... beyond that I think your only solution is unfortunately to test the + current with a multimeter.

You could always turn on your headlights inside the cabin, grab some bare metal somewhere on the engine or frame, then pinch each wire connector with your fingers... see which one gives you a jolt...

just simply hook them up and turn them on...if the polarity is correct, they'll "fire" [i.e. energize/turn-on] correctly ...if one or more doesn't reverse the polarity on the offending ballast...it's that simple...no need to get into some major convoluted procedure with a DVM/DMM, it's just not necessary in this application

Others have already given you "How To" advice. My advice is a bit more basic.

Anyone doing any kind of automotive electrical work must have a Multimeter.

They are cheap, and necessary. Over time, it will save you hundreds of hours and dollars in work and "Oops" costs.

You can pick one up from $15+.

I recently installed HIDs on my 2006 Azera limited. I had the same issue. Using a meter, I was able to detremine that the drivers side top is positive and the passenger's side top is negative. Lights work great. However, if I were you I would double-check it with a meter. David is correct in that they are somewhat cheap yet help you out a lot. Hope this helps.
