Sunvisor Is Broken..., anyone have the same problem??? Options

okay so it was this one morning, i was on my way to work and the bright sun was right in the view of my eyes and when i tried opening the sun visor, it wouldnt open for some strange reason... so i gave it a little bit of more force into it than i heard CRACK!.. and than i noticed the little plastic pole looking part thats holding on to the sunvisor had a big crack on it. and now ever since that big crack noise the sunvisor doesnt stay up.. it hangs low and i bump my forehead everytime... right now its getting held up by 3m tape between the mirror cover and the mirror light plastic cover... is there any replacement part for this? or am i screwed.... Glad this came up again as the driver's side mirror has been sagging a little low. It holds just about 'flat' or parallel to the ground. I blame it on my sister's CD sleeve that I recently took off when I noticed the sagging.

Unfortunately, it appears that HYUNDAI (according to the TSB) would not be willing to complete the fix for me given that I don't live in the applicable states. BUT what if my VIN falls within the range? That's what I find confusing. Shouldn't a TSB cover all vehicles manufactured in the given manner until the 'fix' is applied at the factory?

My guess at this reasoning is it seems to cover an area where there is a lot of very strong sun throughout the year?
That said the sun can be just as bright after a COLD NE blizzard as it can in the Arizona desert. So I guess I'm wrong.

the little plastic part where the joint make it slide {on my passenger side} just broke off; so now it just flaps down.

Well, my sunvisor just broke last night. In the same spot as everyone else.

I guess I'll try taking it down to the dealer to get it replaced. Warranty is up in 13K miles.

Mine did and we took it in. Was a recall fix for free.

for me i think i am going to install Lcd sunvisor, here it will cost me the same and i think better. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif)

It cost me $85 USD for mine...and I had to replace it MYSELF! Just about a month after my warranty expired and about two weeks before the recall/TSB/whatever was released.

I'm pretty sure they just replaced it - there's not much hope in repairing broken plastic. Either way, the visors were redesigned after Hyundai became aware of the problem. The new ones shouldn't break.

For one gently use the Visor. Treat it like it is going to break at any minute. Always carefully dock it

by pushing it back in its holder, rolling it with your fingers. Mine are still as tight as day one. I used the extenders

and almost snapped it off when returning it to its dock. Gets stuck at the Headrest. They are cheap though, with

some of the same Hyundai parts used in the 85 Pony!
