Hyundai's All Weather Mats? Options

What makes them that much better (have you tried the Hyundai ones)?

I'll be near the dealership tomorrow so I may ask around to see if they have any mats and touch-up paint there. If anything, I'd like to at least see the Hyundai mats... I just don't know about those Weathertech ones. For as much as they are, I'm not too fond of how much carpet they cover. It'd be wonderful if I did drive around in the snow and such, but not necessary around here.

I don't think I can stress enough how this thing won't be introduced to the elements. Heck, I've changed shoes before after walking around in the grass before getting into the Sonata (at home of course) And as long as my Jeep still runs, it'll be the one going in the snow.

i havent used the hyundai ones but the weathertechs cover so much. i end up with puddles of water in mine becasue of all the snow i track in. it just makes me think of all the crap that would end up on the floor. also when they are full or dirty i just pull them out and spray them off. they have a 2-3 lip all around so you dont spill the water and dirt.

Thank god I wasn't driving the Sonata today... I got a drink from Chick-fil-a and on the way home my fingers went right through the cup (I'm pretty sure it was cracked). Half of my Dr Pepper dumped out onto my lap, then the rest ended up pouring onto my floor, completely soaking one of my shoes... I'm not sure how much mats such as weathertech would have really helped...certainly nothing with the seat or my clothes, but it would have been less to clean up on the floor (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) But again, thank goodness I wasn't driving the Sonata...and after this I probably won't even have drinks in there anymore!

The Weathertech floor liners do not move. They are great and stay in place. Mine are dirty and will get a bath tomorrow. Try and post some pictures too. Grey on Grey

i dont have weathertechs, but mine also need to be cleaned.. will wait until i am sure the bad weather is done though...

I've had a few sets of mats in my sonata.
- Rubber "sonata" summer mats. Thin with a square grid in them and about 1/2" raised lip around the outside. Good for summer and light rain, horribly rough on your feet if you drive in bare feet or wearing man-dals.
- Rubber Hyundai Canada winter mats. Big, incredibly heavy and well grooved. You could beat a man to death with these mats and they smell horribly rubbery.
- Weathertech floor liners. Amazing, well worth the slight price increase over the hyundai winter mats ($11). They hold water and keep holding it. They are a slightly flexible molded plastic and keep their shape well, but they DO slide a little. Generally when getting in the car for the first time in the morning I shuffle my feet back to pull the mat snug against the rear wall of the floor area.

Had a couple no namers as well, and they worked but slide around constantly.

I'm still sort of leaning this direction. They sound more like what I want. My local dealership had them for $63, so I may run by there and order them. I guess it'll still be more than that posted shop, but I'd assume I could return them or whatever if I really don't like them or they stink (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Hehe, man-dals... I actually do wear them a fair amount, and slip them off when I drive since they kind of get caught between the floor and pedal. Well, perhaps I'll have to start wearing shoes all the time (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I ordered the Hyundai front all weather mats from here:

Should get them early next week.

We don't get a crazy amount of snow where I am in NJ, so these should be just fine.

Got them more for the muck and stuff I will track up from my marina parking lot this summer.
