You are indeed fortunate.

We got a full dose of the Sonata as we drove some 200 miles making the rounds to various dealers from city to city yesterday. We caught nearly every imaginable type road with smooth surface, gravel surface, old, new, bumpy, potholes, train tracks... we covered it all. This is the first time my wife really realized just how bad the Sonata was... but what really made her open her eyes was when we took the 2010 Fusion for a test drive, over a couple of train tracks and down a country back road that had a lot of bumps. I am not talking about the Hybrid... but rather the model that is comparably equipped and priced to my Sonata Limited (within $1000)... it was an SE 4 cylinder gas. It is amazing how different the suspensions are between these two cars. That Fusion drove as good or better than anything I have ever driven, including our currently owned Azera (which is a very nice ride) and our formerly owned Sonata's, BMW, Maxima's and Camry's. This is one fine ride that Ford has created. We actually like the interior of my Sonata better... as far as the front, but the seats were much more comfortable in the Fusion. We did not really notice any difference between the regular gas Fusion and the Hybrid. We cannot see paying the price difference to get the Hybrid either.

Something else we noticed and were quite surprised with is that the Camry was not that much better than my Sonata. It was not quite as loud as my Sonata when hitting a bump, but the feel was just as evident. We could not find a place to test it for wheel hopping, but we were sure not impressed with its ride. The seats were too short from front to back... a complaint I have had with my Sonata and also a one-up the Fusion has over the Sonata and the Camry.

You can look at my history... I have owned a Sonata since back in 2006 and on my third one. My wife loves her 06 Azera and says she will probably get a 2010, 11 or 12. My point is that I am certainly not a Ford fanboy by any means. The first time I thought "Fusion"... it was something like, "What... a Fusion? You gotta be kiddin' me... I ain't studying any Fusion." The 2010 test drive woke me up... and impressed my wife and I so much that we are planning on buying one.

Hyundai... please get your act together and get the Sonata suspension up to par... fix the issue, quit procrastinating and do what is right! There is no reason to let such a good car be completely ruined by its suspension.

Well, guess I'm not alone...here's my post elswhere in the Forum:

"Love my Sonata (1,600 miles) but something is loose or whatever underneath that is annoying as heck.

Seems to sound off when I run over even small bumps with right front wheel...sorta' feels like something hitting under the passenger side floorboard.

And going down a slightly rough road, the car rattles like a trap.

Definitely something wrong

I'm taking it in...just wondered if anyone else had encountered this"

I took it in this morning and same old s**t...I hear it but they don't.

They did put it on the lift and allowed me to look underneath..not that I knew what I was doing...but I didn't see any rub marks where something was hitting...and the guy put a wrench on all exposed bolts...all seemed tight.

On smooth surface...a great ride....on bumpy road, it is an absolute shame.

Thought I beat the finance guy down to get a good deal...but looks like he has the last laugh...as they seem to always do in my case. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grin.gif)

TexasSonata, very sorry to read that you are having problems with your new Sonata. We welcome you

to the Forum, but please refrain from reposting or cross posting in other threads or forums. A link

would be fine. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/00000732.gif)

If there is another thread similar to this one then it would be a good idea to merge the two threads.

Otherwise, I am very glad you posted your issues so that it is all in one thread/place.

Please don't tell me how to do this. If the Merge Post function worked I would do so for you.

Why not check out TexasSonata's new 09 Suspension Thread from the other day. It would all be very clear. With that said, it

is now time to retire this thread as it has become off topic, repetitive, and has run its course over the last Year & 7 pages,

and 126 posts. 37 replies alone from just Sonnie. Wow!
