I have the UK spec 2.2 diesel CDX manual 7 seat vehicle bought in Feb 2008. However, I think it was manufactured sometime in late 2007 as it was a pre registration (Jan 2008).
It has the Euro IV emissions standard, does anyone know if this include a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF)?
My understanding is that to meet Euro 1V emissions , all commuter diesels must operate DPF or CPF systems . This was part of the push behind the introduction of common rail diesels. Higher combustion temperatures and a ceramic catalytic chamber to reduce CO2 and NOx emissions well below equivalent horsepower petrol vehicles. Look after your DPF very well, the replacement cost for this complex system is around $aus 7000!!!!!. Your DPF is located directly next to exhaust manifold and you won't miss it as it is surrounded by heat shielding as the operating temp in reaction chamber is around 900 C . Always run ACEA C3 standard oil, cause normal diesel oil is high in sulphur and the emmissions will clogg up that DPF permanently .
