I just bought a 2008 limited VC with Nav and I have been trying to find the wiring harness to connect a Parrot 6100 BT. I found 1 company that will build this cable. Apparently it is complicated with all the amps that are installed. I will update this site when I get the cable and let everyone know if it works.

I purchased the same Parrot MK6100 BT and had it installed by Cartoys. They stated they could not do surround unless they had it wired to the amp, or some very diffucult item like this. They said most systems with an external amp have it located in the back of the vehicle which complicates the complete setup.

Once they installed it to the front center console speaker my VC started having the battery die after 8-10 hours sitting. I purchase the BT and had it installed 3 days after purchase of the VC and had it taken out completely last week, 4 weeks after VC purchase. I also have the Aux Input installed but I did this install and when turned off draws no power.

I am taking the VC back for an all day troubleshooting session this week. CarToys thinks the problem with my power issue is the amp possibly stays on when he vehicle is turned off.

Thanks
Robert

I posted this in another post but I hope it helps if it happens to you as well.

I found the amp fuse and unplugged it. I noticed there was a little spark when I removed it and placed it back in the slot, did this several times to verify. I put it back and removed the 2 cable connectors on the amp and then tested the fuse situation again and no spark. Put all back together and got spark. So the amp seems to be bad or malfunctioning in some way. I will take the VC back to Hyundai this week and get it resolved.

Thanks
Robert

Thanks for the info! I also went CarToy's and the quoted me $360 for the labor and said that they had to cut all the factory wiring so I found a could of web sites that make plug and play cables for the Parrot 6100. The problem is that no one has the harness for the new amplified LG stereo. I ended up talking to the owner of one of the companies and he is currently making me the harness plus the 6100 and an Ipod bluetooth adapter for $360. It wont be done for a couple of weeks, but I will let you know how it works.

I installed a Parrot MKi9200 in my '08 GLS and used Parrot's recommended harness provider they link to from their site. I have been very happy. performed the install myself in a couple hours with the assistance of hyundai's FREE online service manuals. Slick! The microphone is up above the rearview mirror with all the cabling hidden and the USB/iPOD/3.5mm all come out in the top bin of the center console. Next I want to find the kit to integrate the existing steering wheel buttons into the unit so I can ditch the wireless strap-on remote. Anyone have any experience with this? It looks like the buttons on the steering wheel are resistance-based so I think the option, sold by parrot, would work.
