Guys - I've found some pics of the suspension on Hyundai Australia's website.
Front: (note, 23mm anti-rollbar)

Rear: (18mm anti-rollbar)

As well - the shell is lighter than a G37, and stiffer than an E46 M3. Heady company, indeed.

Automobile MagHyundai generously offered up a quick ride (not drive) in a pre-production Genesis coupe during an event for the Genesis sedan, and I jumped at the chance. The quick ride didn't exactly show off the coupe's dynamics since five of us were crammed in there and we pretty much rode on the bumpstops the entire trip, but I was able to learn a few things:
The Genesis coupe is indeed a different car from the Tiburon it replaces. Some media members speculated that we were simply riding in a Tiburon with the seats turned around. One particularly critical, hard-driving journalist crawled under the car to verify that it did, in fact, have a drive shaft connecting the front-mounted engine and transmission to the rear wheels. It turns out John Krafcik, Hyundai's vice president of product development and strategic planning, brought the real deal for us to ogle.
With a rumored 310-horsepower V-6, this coupe should be pretty hot. Still, it lost a little of the purported zippiness when we clearly overloaded the car. That just gave us ample opportunities to listen to the exhaust note. Krafcik told us the exhaust isn't fully tuned yet, but we all agreed it sounded pretty good. When properly (read: legally) loaded, I expect the experience to improve dramatically.
The design of the Genesis coupe turns lots of heads. Or at least the sight of five people squeezed into a Genesis coupe cruising through Santa Barbara does. I was stuck (literally) in the back seat and the headroom was severely lacking for someone more than six-feet tall. There was an amazing amount of leg room though. I think anyone up to 5'9" would fit comfortably back there with a reasonably sized driver or passenger in front. Or maybe I have a freakishly long torso. The Genesis coupe certainly has better leg room than something like a Nissan GT-R or Ford Mustang.
The Genesis coupe may not be out until the 2010 model year, but if it packs the same bang-for-your-buck as the Genesis sedan it will be worth the wait.

Has anyone heard at what autoshow the Production Version of the Genesis Coupe will be unveiled at? I have heard no details since the LA Autoshow. Or anymore details since that leaked marketing info session? As well when is the release date for the production version to markets? I am hoping for late 2008 as a 2009 model. Maybe the 2008 LA Autoshow???
I can't seem to find anything so any info would be great thanks.

Hi All,
Here is a link to a great video clip where Joel Piaskowski from the Hyundai USA Design team profiles the Hyundai Genesis Concept. The clip was filmed in Australia at the recent Melbourne Motor Show and Joel really gives you a detailed insight into the thinking behind the building of the Genesis Concept coupe which looks fantastic. So, here's some good stuff I found today from the NY auto show:
NEW YORK CITY — At the 2008 New York Auto Show, Hyundai has peeled the covers off the production-ready Genesis coupe, the two-door companion to the rear-wheel-drive Genesis sedan. The Genesis coupe will go on sale in the U.S. in spring 2009, as a 2010 model. Hyundai initially will offer two engines in the Genesis coupe: a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder rated at 212 horsepower and 217 pound-feet of torque, and a normally aspirated 3.8-liter V6 rated at 306 hp and 263 lb-ft. The output ratings are slightly higher on premium fuel at 310 hp for the V6 and 223 hp for the turbo four. Both engines will come with a standard six-speed manual gearbox. Optional transmissions include a ZF six-speed automatic, with manual shift capability on the V6, and a five-speed Shiftronic automatic on the four-cylinder. Hyundai says the Genesis coupe with V6 will sprint from zero to 60 mph in less than 6.0 seconds, with a top speed of 149 mph. The Korean automaker has not yet revealed pricing on the Genesis coupe but said it will be aimed at the Infiniti G37 coupe, which lists for $35,215. Standard equipment includes stability control, pushbutton start, outside temperature gauge and an iPod jack. What this means to you:Hyundai says the Genesis coupe won't share the sedan's new V8 — not yet anyway. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent
2010 Genesis Coupe ArchitectureGenesis Coupe’s body shell is rich in ultra-high-tensile steel. Genesis Coupe is lighter than the Infiniti G37, and its chassis is also 24 percent stiffer in bending rigidity than the BMW E46 M3. Rear-wheel drive provides a 55:45 front/rear weight distribution.
POWERTRAINS
2010 Genesis Coupe 3.8-liter Lambda DOHC V6 EngineTwo engines infuse Genesis Coupe with performance. The 3.8-liter Lambda DOHC V6 engine delivers an estimated 306 horsepower (310 horsepower using premium fuel) and 263 lb.-ft. of torque on regular unleaded. This engine will launch the Genesis Coupe from 0 to 60 miles per hour in under six seconds. To maximize the power band, the 3.8-liter engine utilizes Continuously Variable Valve Timing (CVVT) on intake cam shafts and a new Variable Intake System (VIS) that helps cylinders breathe efficiently at both low and high RPM. The better breathing results in outstanding off-the-line acceleration and passing performance, and remarkable fuel efficiency. The V6 engine uses an alloy block and cylinder heads for lighter weight and thermal efficiency, and features timing chains with no scheduled maintenance. The turbocharged, intercooled 2.0-liter DOHC inline four-cylinder benefits from CVVT on both the intake and exhaust camshafts. The 2.0-liter turbo generates an estimated 212 horsepower (223 horsepower using premium fuel) and 217 lb.-ft. of torque. It also features a cast-aluminum cylinder block and cylinder head. Both engines feature a free flowing dual cat-back exhaust and an available limited slip differential to put the power to the ground.
While all Genesis Coupe models offer a fun and sporty driving experience, the high-performance Genesis Coupe SE is a most willing partner for the true enthusiast. The SE’s track-tuned sport suspension features a stiffer front spring rate, stiffer rear spring rate and unique shock valving. Genesis Coupe SE delivers an increase in roll control over the GS. Superb structural rigidity sets the foundation for precisely-tuned handling performance in all Genesis Coupes.
HIGH PERFORMANCE BRAKING SYSTEMSBrembo four-piston calipers clamp down on 13.4-inch front brake rotors and 13-inch rear rotors on SE models. All other models get substantial 12.6-inch front ventilated rotors and 12.4-inch rotors in the rear with floating single piston calipers.
THREE DISTINCT TRIM LEVELSThe Genesis Coupe is offered in three trim levels: the stylish and affordable GS, the premium-sport GT featuring the 3.8-liter V6, and the high-performance SE, available with either the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine or the 3.8-liter V6 engine.
GENESIS COUPE SE (Preliminary packaging subject to change)Unique SE equipment:• 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder or 3.8-liter DOHC V6• HID headlights• Aluminum pedals• Manual A/C• 19-inch alloy wheels• High performance Bridgestone Potenza RE050A summer tires• Brembo braking system with monobloc four-piston calipers• SE track-tuned suspension / front strut brace• Limited-slip differential• Black leather bolsters / red cloth insert seats• Rear spoiler• Aero wiper blades
GENESIS COUPE GS (Preliminary packaging subject to change)Key Standard Equipment:• 2.0-liter turbocharged, intercooled four-cylinder engine• Electronic Stability Control• Traction Control System• ABS• Tire Pressure Monitoring System• Front, side, side air curtain air bags• Active front head restraints• Manual A/C• Keyless entry• Power windows, door locks, and mirrors• AM/FM/XM/CD Player/USB/iPod connectivity• Steering wheel audio controls• Cruise control• Vanity mirror illumination• Bluetooth

Well Genesis make up your mind, what is going to be the tire size ?
One forum with specs says 245/40R19 all around and then the Hyundai site says Dunlop 255/35ZR on the front and 275/35ZR on the rear.
The only thing agreed on is the 19 in wheel- SE,I think the 18 is on the lower models ?
Any comments or insight ?

Hopefully some of you will know the answers to the following please.I am leaning to buying this next year along with some of you also. Thanks for your input !!!
1) Audio system / how many speakers and wattage.I think they are putting in the Infinity system. Does that mean the "InfinityStudio on wheels premium system" ? I read it will have a 550 watt system with alot of speakers (hopefully subs included)
2) Tires - Are these summer tires ? Are all-season tires available as a option ? Which brand and size ? I have heard two different kinds ?
3) Price - I heard $ 25,600.00 / loaded - true or false I am sure if they come out with the SE version the price will be more. How much more ?

Hyundai has released the first official photo renderings of the automaker's upcoming rear-wheel-drive coupe.
The Concept Genesis Coupe that will eventually make it into production form is going to be officially unveiled in a few weeks at the LA Auto Show. We'll be there first hand to show you the photos.
It is rumored that the coupe is going to get the same 300+ horsepower V8 as the Genesis sedan as well as a V6.

Hyundai's much anticipated RWD coupe has been caught at a recent market research event.
Thanks to a photographer at the event we have the first real...fully naked photos of the new coupe sitting next to its main competitor, the Ford Mustang.
The all-new RWD coupe that is based on the upcoming Genesis sedan platform is expected to be officially unveiled at the LA Auto Show next week as the Concept Genesis Coupe.
The new coupe is going to replace the current FWD Tiburon in the Hyundai lineup. It is still not known if the coupe will still use the Tiburon name. It is rumored that the coupe is going to be offered with a 300 horsepower V6 and possibly the same Tau V8 in the Genesis sedan. The coupe is also expected to get a 215 horsepower 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder.
According to sources the 2.0L turbocharged coupe is going to start at $19,900 and the 3.8L V6 with 300 horsepower is going to start at $25,900.
The coupe is expected to hit showrooms late next year as a 2009 model.

... to be revealed at LA Auto Show.
QUOTE
Hyundai engineers have taken the company's new Genesis rear-drive platform -- the one destined for the company's new, 350+ hp, V8-powered luxury flagship -- and created a sporty, rear-drive two-door. At SEMA today, the company's VP of product development John Krafcik revealed a sketch of a new variant. It'll be dubbed the Concept Genesis Coupe when it shows up at the Los Angeles auto show next month. The prototype will be powered by a 3.8-liter V6 producing 300 horsepower, with a five-link rear suspension. The production model will appear at the New York auto show in 2008, before hitting dealerships subsequently. Yes. Rear drive, 300 horsepower, Hyundai. Think that over.
Either it's the new Tibby or the Tibby was good while it lasted.

Hi, I'm new to these forums and also new to "Hyundai" in general.
I saw the the banner at the top of this forum for an ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL hyundai that is supposed to come out sometime in the near future? It was a 2 door coupe and caught my eye and I fell in love with the looks of it immediately. That is a new unreleased car right?
what is this car? when does it come out, and what is the price started at?
I'm about to buy my first hyundai and was going to buy an 07 tiburon (i love those!) but i'm not sure because I read something about them being redesigned? I'm confused as of whether they 07 are the new redesigned ones, or if the 08 models are going to be completely different with a new body style!
somebody fill me in here! thanks!
