Not sure if this was posted elsewhere, copied from my local Hyundai forum...
Sorry for the late notice, but I remembered that some of you Ontario guys like to frequent here.
Free drinks and snacks while supplies last!!!
Hope to see some of you there - looks like a fantastic day ahead!
Well it looks like this will happen so lets make it official. Since there are 3 different day use area's I would suggest we meet up at the entrance (where you pay), wait 15 minutes to make sure everyone is there then go in together. As far as activities go, are we just going to chill or does anyone have anything planned?
If anyone has any other suggestions or input please feel free to say something.
Here are the details.
Where: Darlington Provincial Park
1600 DARLINGTON PARK RD
Clarington, ON L1E 1A1, Canada
When: August 22nd @ 12PM
Price: Cost somewhere between $10-$18 to enter
Directions from 401 heading East.
1. Take exit 425 for County Rd-34/Courtice Rd toward Courtice
2. Turn right at Courtice Rd
3. Turn right at Darlington Park Rd

I had a hard time passing the daytime running light test (one of the TC/RIV requirments) in Montreal with my AZERA 07. I could've simply installed the DRL from Canadian Tire or at the Dealership, but I found the other way to pass the test.
Canadian Tire never allows you to supervise your own car while a rookie tech guy drills holes in the body and peels off wires one by one until he finds the right one to connect. And even Hyundai dealership charges you close to 300$ for that simple matter.
In fact, regular DRL module cannot be installed normally because the green wire, which is skewed around spark wire, has no place to be installed in Azera. Azera engine has the spark wire inside the engine. It's a heck of a job just for a DRL.
I have consulted with a hyundai factory guy in Korea and found the way to activate DRL without ECU, without a additional module or wiring.
It's just like a regular DRL. The low light is always on when the car starts.
There is a special Relay that can activate DRL. This information can help people in Montreal area with a hyundai 2006+ to pass the fed test with a US Azera.
After you pass the test, you can disable DRL if you wish.
If you reside in Montreal area, I wish to help not to waste your money. My no. is 514-999-9574.
(I believe this post is not against the rule since it's not advertising. Asking for no money. In any case, if so, please advise me. Thanks)

Hey there guys!
Anyone in here knows of a great tuning shop or garage that could install stuff like Intakes, Exhaust, headers, body kits etc... near Montreal?
I've tried searching on Google and found a few ones but I'm a bit skeptical about them, period. That's until i visited them. But if someone knows of one by personal experience or has been recommended one...
Thanks!

Hey listen.
I was thihnking today that there must be some desire to ask questions of a sales rep without having the "fear" of sales pressure.
So here I am.
I'm Don, I've worked at a high volume Hyundai store(second highest sales in Canada) for over 4 years as both a sales rep, and manager.
Do you have any questions about the process? Warranty? Or, here's an idea, the products? I can answer. Want to vent about a salesperson? Maybe I can give you their perspective.
Whatever. I'm here and this is your chance to ask me whatever you want. Fire away.

Send me a PM to let me know if you are interested in coming.

Hi all. If you have the OEM cross rails that came with your Santa Fe and don't plan on making use out of them, let me know. I'd be interested in buying them off you depending on price. I'm located in T.O. so preferably a local deal.
You can also email me at a1genius[at]rogers[dot]com.
Thanks.

Anyone imported Hyundai car or SUV from US to Canada?
I am thinking importing 2007 Santa Fe.
I've heard i need to change;
- odo meter from mile to Km - cost $1,000 at Hyundai dealer
- day headlight - cost couple of hundred?
Immobilizer is mandatory now in Canada.
US Santa Fe has immobilizer installed?
Warranty is reduced to meet Canadian warranty.
Not include road side assistants.
Any information about these importing?

Any idea on the cost to get Canadian spec DRL's on a US Sonata? I have to add them since I'll be importing the car. Is it a simple wiring change or something more? It's an 06 GLS V6 with fog lights.

I read a one-liner in an article in the local newspaper published in mid December 2007 about importing vehicles into Canada, and it said that Hyundai has decided to stop refunding Canadian dealers for warranty service done on American imported vehicles - it did not provide more details than that. Does anyone have additional info?

I have a 2007 2.7 fwd sante Fe. About 17 000 km (about 10 500 miles)
It doesn't see much highway. Mostly in town drving about 65kh/hr (40 mph)
I am averaging 15.5 LITERS PER 100 KM (15.1 mpg) in the winter i was getting (17.2 Litres per 100KM (13.6 MPG)
My dealership says thats about right WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also i can`t charge any electronic device without the key in. Pain in the But.
The Sante Fe is a nice smooth ride but unless the mileage improves I would never EVER buy a Hyundi again.

QUOTE
Ok, so here are the tentative details:
Date: Sunday, August 31st 2008
Time: 2-6 pm
Location: Hutch's @ Confederation Park, Hamilton, ON
I'm planning on 2-6 pm, because that way it will give time for us to wash the cars in the morning, and to actually make it there. Last year it took some of us an hour and a half to make it there from 2 cities over. Plus, 10 am is just way too early. By 4pm everyone's bored because we've been hanging out all day long. I figure at 6 we can head into downtown Hamilton and hit up Hess village, where they have all those outdoor bars. Unless of course anyone has any other ideas.
For those that are making the trip from far away, we can plan a meet up for Saturday, maybe take a cruise out to Niagara Falls, or Toronto. Then go out for food/drinks Saturday night.
So, please post if you are interested. Tell me if you are definitely coming, or maybe coming. I'd like to get a list of at least 10 confirmed people, so that I can call up Hutch's and reserve the lot.
And of course, if anyone has any additional ideas or details, please post them up. I don't want to be the only one planning this, I would like it to be a collective effort.

Hi guys, Just moved to Toronto Area!
I am looking for this forum's advice on the most helpful and honest Hyundai Shop where I can get my car serviced.
I used to go to Hyundai South in London. But obviously that would be a too far drive for me since I live in Toronto now :-)
I am thinking about going to Westend Hyundai, Any good/bad experiences? Any other suggestions?
Tanks guys/gals ! :-)

2008 3rd Touge.ca Dunnville Autodrome Track day May 18th Hello all Hyundai drivers,
We're starting to build a list for the track day signup on the 18th of May.
We have the track Sunday evening from
4:00pm - 8:00 pm A little background -
The Dunville Circuit is one of the safest tracks you can learn on. It's not very fast (save for the around 1/4 mile back straight) and very technical. It's also very fun and you'll spend the whole day mastering your line, and there are some pretty good photo ops.
This is how it will work, for those not familiar with our track days. We're limiting this track day to about 30 cars since we have 4 hours lapping time instead of 3. This gives you plenty of time and room on the track while keeping the crowd down.
We usually have a briefing prior to getting out on the track, followed by a few warm up laps, then lapping for the rest of the day. "Lapping" refers to just that, doing laps. Passing is STRICTLY prohibited except on the back straight, and only when the person in front of you has allowed you by by signaling you to pass. We reserve all rights to kick people off the track that are driving dangerously and/or aren't listening to track marshalls.
For those that have never been to the track, we encourage you to try it out, even if you're still on stock tires (they'll suck, and burn up quick, but it's still fun)
All those interested in attending this track day on May 18th
Please Email me your info below:
Include first name and last initial, car type, & contact info
i.e.

(if you have helmets, it won't hurt to bring them up). If you don't have one, you can rent one at the track for $10.
Note: Helmets are MANDATORY for soft-top convertibles.
We've got a fully designed flash animated website with track configuration and map. Kindly visit
www.Touge.ca for all details.

hi All Hyundai drivers,
We had a great success in last year track lapping events. Now 2008 season is coming, our first lapping will be on Mosport DDT.

For the 1st track day, it will be a great opportunity for newbies/beginners to bring your rides out (even your car is stock and running all season tires), we will have a longer warmup period on April 27th, and special setup for the newbies group.
April 27th Mosport DDT signup/details here Feel free to email
info@Touge.ca for any questions. Or kindly visit
www.Touge.ca for all details and lapping schedule.
For last year photos, please check out Touge.ca "Media" section.

I originally posted this under the thread for Santa Fe's, however there were no replies. Can anyone in Canada help with this please?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi everyone, newbie here.
I have an '02 Santa Fe, and am located in Canada.
I have new xenon's to install, however, I need to modify the DRL's so that they use my fogs instead of the headlights. Or, I need to remove the DRL function completely.
I read a thread on this forum about working with the fog lights on a '06 Santa Fe, and am not sure that will handle what I need, seeing as it was done on an '06, and it wasn't done to change the DRL's from headlights to fogs.
Can anyone help please?? I'm not a fan of messing with anything electrical, so if you 've done this and can share detailed instructions, I would very much appreciate it.
((And, yes I did a search and could NOT find anything revelant to what I need.))
Mike

Does anyone know if this club is still active? Their website hasn't been updated since 2004 and e-mails to their president are returned as undelivered.
Any other Ontario (I'm in Kingston), clubs/associations for Hyundai?
