New to the forum, had a question. Just purchased a used 2007 Hyundai accent with the original CD player/car stereo. Does anyone know if there's a way to hook up an auxiliary input for an ipod? I assume if there were a way it would be in the back of the stereo...is there an input jack back there?

thanks

Assuming you have the single disc CD double DIN receiver -- unfortunately, no.

You're limited to wired FM modulators as your only means of auxiliary input.

There's always aftermarket...  There are plenty of good entry-level aftermarket head units that will play mp3's and have an aux in.  But you lose your clean factory-integrated look. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif)

even $30 aftermarket radios have aux in ports. It's pretty much standard on all aftermarket radios these days.

my son's running into this situation right now w/ his Silverado SS. it's got a nice bose w/ no aux for ipod/iPhone so were having to look at something called iSimple, it adds the aux for connection. looks pretty clean, and nice, but it's around 200 installed. were thinking about just putting a nice new head unit in it...

GM radios have some decent aftermarket support when it comes to expandability...   I would go that route, 'specially if it's Bose!

Would be nice to see something like that with Hyundai, but every model of theirs has an entirely different radio that's often sourced by different vendors, so it's pointless for a company to devote resources to developing things that would hook up (if the capability is there at all which 99% of the time these days it doesn't seem to be.)
