I have a 2003 Sante Fe with the premium sound package. I'm figuring since the Monsoon has it's own amplifier that there are no preouts on the back of the head unit. So I was thinking, would it be possible to splice my rear speakers into a high low converter such as this one? I'm saying this because I already have rear speakers disconnected and have other wires running to a separate speaker box so all the wires except for ground are all exposed and easy to access.

The only other wire I have to find is the one i'm going to use for the remote turn on.

Any help would be great!

I'm not sure on that course of action due to the fact I've never tried it. If your in the market for it this is the same one I use its about $15 more than the one on your link but its worked flawless for me. Heres The Item

Thanks for your reply Steven,

I was going to get that online but I was already going to Bestbuy so I just picked up a line converter.

I ended up running my remote on wire for my amp from the rear cigarette lighter to the front behind the hood release to a switch all the way back to the amp. The major problem I am facing now is if the car is or and the stereo is off, my sub starts of quiet then starts getting extremely loud (exponentially i think is the best way to describe it). The way I am fixing this is by turning down the input power to the sub. This way if you turn off the stereo is doesn't blow up the sub, only problem with this is that the sub isn't nearly as loud as it can be.

Does the happen to all subs if there's no signal or is my amp messed up? I can turn up the power to the sub without problems when the stereo is on its just when its off that causes the problem.

Thanks again!

Edit: I found the exact same problem here -> http://community.crutchfield.com/forums/p/5177/22670.aspx should I get a ground loop isolator or just try to find a better ground?

I wish I had pictures how I did mine. I have the wiring diagram of this system cause I installed an amp under the driver seat and tapped into the wiring to the amp to get the other amp on and used an LOC from the wiring prior to the amp to get my speaker signals. It is very possible. I will try to find the wiring diagram and get it up here for you so you can wire from that. Just pull the passenger seat and all the wiring is right there for the remote and LOC to hook up to. I will see what I can do to have this up by the weekend.

just a thought on your aftermarket amp and sub going crazy on ya. sounds to me like your amp is picking up alot of electrical noise from somewhere. if i read your post right you are using the rear cigarette lighter via a switch up front to turn your amp on and off? not sure of the nuts and bolts of electric current and amps and wattage and so forth, but after installing quite a few amps and subs myself, seems to me that that might not be the best remote on/off. might be too much amperage or bad ground somewhere. also your loc might be catching interferance from where it is mounted ( power cable/wire, signal wire, etc) to close. same with your rca cables from the loc to the amp, if it is to close to a powered wire/cable, it will pick up interferance. just some thoughts for ya.

My signal and power cables are opposite sides of the truck. The sub doesnt buzz when I turn the input power on the amp down so you are probably right that there is interference somewhere.
