Yesterday I drove both the 1.0 and the 1.2 new generation i10.

No doubting that the extra power of the 1.2 can be useful but for me the 1.0 was much nicer to drive. It felt smoother and quieter.

I'm leaning towards the 1.0 but a bit worried about missing the extra power of the 1.2.

Anyone gone from the old 1.2 to the new 1.0? Your impressions?

yes, gone from old gen i10 1.2 to new gen i10 1.0 - must say 1.0 is very quiet, smooth and refined - we tend to use ours mainly as a run about and it is fine for that - having said that it does sometimes need a bit extra grunt when pushing on and in our case, the 1.0 is not as economical as I had hoped it would be - we use it for mainly shorter distance but light urban traffic journeys with a few longer trips but driven fairly gently. My i20 1.2 trip meter tends to indicate it is more economical than the i10 1.0 trip meter indicates and I tend to drive the i20 a little faster! We struggle to get anything higher than low to mid 40's mpg from our 1.0 but I know others will say they get significantly more somehow!
