Smile New Hyundai driver

Hi Guys

Took delivery of an i10 Active about 4 weeks ago and despite a few minor niggles I'm delighted with it.

I have never taken so long to get comfortable with moving off in 1st gear, I couldn't believe how often I was stalling. Thank goodness I finally mastered it. The key seems to be just to use 1st gear to get the car rolling and move up to 2nd asap.

I think the hidden tray in the boot is a waste of time, I would rather have the additional space. Also don't like the remote not being on the key or the parcel shelf needing to be put down manually.

These are really just minor annoyances and over all I love the car. I find it very easy to drive and it really grips the road better than I ever expected. I read a few reviews that said it was a very noisy car but I don't see that as an issue at all.

I'm delighted with the mpg, I do a round trip of 36 miles a day on mostly rural roads and I'm getting 50+ mpg.

The best 7k I've ever spent.

There is an ECM download to prevent stalling on the manual box Facelift i10 which your dealer can apply free of charge.

i10 Stalling

I've had it done on mine and can confirm it works. It's also supposed to prevent throttle flare between gear changes but that was never a problem for me.

The TSB is HFE12-14-E280-PA

Does your i10 Rev up between gears???

Thanks for the info shedloads. I'll contact my dealer to find out if my car has had this download.

Turns out my car hasn't had that downloan installed so I've booked it in, dealer was very helpful.

I'm assuming that if the stalling was down to me rather than the car that getting the download won't do any harm anyway

Hi there
I am new to this site and in 5 days time I will be picking up my i10 auto.
I felt that having a ford focus I was spoiled due to the fantastic handling and when the decision to get a smaller more economical car would also include a compromise in reduced quality.
After several test drives I have to say I was very impressed with this car overall and am looking forward to picking it up

Hi JBK. The i10 might not be quite as good as the focus but at the price you wouldn't expect it to be. It is however a very comfortable car that is actually good fun to drive. I don't think you will be dissapointed.

When on holiday in Australia, a couple of years ago, we hired a fairly new automatic Focus. It was a good car but the operation of the auto box was marginally less smoothe than our i10 and the door pocket layout was worse. It was positively difficult to grab paperwork while seated with the door closed. Despite the excellent reputation of the Focus, I even found that I preferred the steering of the i10.

The two cars and their power ratings are rather different but I hope that you will enjoy your little Korean as much as we do ours.
