Anyone have any information on the 2016 model? Contrary to some rumors of the Azera getting killed off, they will be making a 2016 model--Per Jim Trainor, PR manager at Hyundai.

I have heard that the engine may get a bump to 320 HP and that the front grill will be like the Grandeur for a more elegant look.
I put that grille on my 2015. I think it looks great and belongs on USA models. I hope they don't improve the 2016 much. I can't afford to trade again.:grin2:

Looking at the so called redesign of the 2016 Azera it isn't all that impressive. The grill change and the front lights look different. Not much of the shape of the car as it looks about the same. Not sure what the rear end looks like but hope is doesn't look like the Sonata. The Azera should be its own car not a copy of the Sonata.

I would think the interior will be getting a facelift. Yet the jury is still out until we see the true Azera not some pics of what it might look like. With the low number of Azera sales I didn't think Hyundai would even consider selling this car in the US again. If they do consider selling this car in the US there best be a "Wow Factor" Otherwise Azera will be dead in the water. Nothing special about this design.

Well I gave up trying to buy a 2015 replacement for my 2012 Azera..... I purchased a 2015 Genesis V6 with AWD. The Genny has considerably better driving dynamics and much more comfort. I was able to buy this car for about $1000 less than invoice plus full blue book trade in value for the Azera.............I just could not pass up that deal

EPA says the the Genesis will get 25 mph on the highway (AWD) On my way home from the dealer (75 miles away) I got 27.9mpg on the ODO After about 350 miles I filled up so I could get a rough idea on what the MPG was ODO showed 28.2 actual was 28.7mpg I thought that was great........... With all the Hyundai cars I have owned it took about 10,000 mile to reach max. mpg
So I'm very happy with the results. When I reach 1000 miles I'll be much more aggressive driving and I'll report back

Xsolara- we are looking forward to your impressions of the Genesis. I am considering one when I upgrade, primarily due to the AWD.

On a side note, the Genesis section of this forum is not that active. I also have been following a Genesis forum that is very active. I won't post any link due to etiquette.

I see that the local dealer has just gotten in a new silver Limited. Strange but the sticker is even more than the advertised Genesis in the newspaper. Since they only got the Morrocan Brown a couple of weeks ago and it sold in the first three days I would think this bodes well for the continuance of the Azera.

This is the only six cylinder large sedan front driver in their line-up. Can't speak for everyone but I'd rather not have a turbo. I see they are now coming out with a 1.6 liter four cylinder turbo in the Sonata. So they are going down in size for fuel economy purposes I would suppose. I'll talk to the salesman I know there this Wednesday and see what he has to say. Last time I talked to him he said the Azeras were like "Gold." I'll lean on him to see if he still holds to that view. He always walks around mine whenever I come in for service. Will be interesting to see what he says then. I'm sure they would love to have mine in the used inventory.

I see that 1.6 does rate at 32 mpg but it is not as well equipped as the other models only coming with 16" wheels for example. The tires are 65 profile and it also has a seven speed dual clutch transmission. Interesting.

Doesn't have anything to do with the Azera but if fuel mileage is the goal it would make sense to not push the Azera but the Genesis gets even less fuel economy at 19 mpg. The Azera gets 22 mpg. I wonder, however, if pushing such a small engine to produce so much power that if might not strain the pistons, rods and crankshaft. Now they are looking at doing away with camshafts.

In the "old days", we had big V8s that didn't produce all that much power, had lousy fuel economy but were all but unbreakable. I tore one down in 1975, a 390 Ford, and even with 110,000 miles, filthy inside, there was no perceptible wear and one burnt exhaust valve. And that was the only thing wrong it.

Seems like a complicated engine being overstressed is going to be much more expensive to repair than paying more to fill up our vehicles and that's not counting being less safe in accidents.

I just came from servicing my Azera and looked at the Genesis. Although this is not the Genesis forum I thought this would be of interest to those who might be looking at this.

Hard as it may be to believe, it does not have a mute control on the steering wheel and the steering wheel is not heated.

We don't have the heated steering wheel but we do have the mute control. I told the salesman I could not consider the Genesis on that basis alone. The Equus does. Even the Elantra has a mute button as do the Santa Fe's. Can hardly believe that this would be left off their flagship vehicle. A lot to like but not enough to keep me interested. What were they thinking?? (The Genesis sales are stagnate -- wonder why?)

There was a customer in there as I was leaving who was teetering on the edge of getting a new Azera. I think maybe they might be getting more interest these days. Other than the hard plastic dash trim showing dust I really can't find much to fault.

I hope they continue with this and the 2016 model. But of course we have no control over Hyundai's management who makes these decisions. In any event I am quite pleased with mine.

Thought you all would find that interesting about the Genesis. Still shaking my head.

A FYI: The oil change cost $37.28 including wash and vac.

It looks like Hyundai used last years 2015 Azera pictures in the 2016's press release. The only change for the 2016 from 2015 is the addition of Smart Cruise Control and Electronic Parking Brake. I have always preferred a manual hand operated emergency brake. I want to be in full control of how the emergency brake is applied if the occasion ever arises. What I don't see is the rain sensing wiper option which is available overseas. That would have been a nice addition for the last year of the Azera.

You know they removed the rain sensing capability for the 2012 model. Apparently Hyundai was receiving complaints that the sensors were not working correctly however my 2005 Azera rain sensor was working perfectly from day one until the trade-in. It not came on during mist but rain at appropriate during speed for type of rain.

On a trip on I-95 over the Christmas holidays, I noticed several auto transport trucks carrying new Hyundai's. What was interesting is that each truck had an Azera among the models on board. I just checked the local inventory and there are six 2016 Azeras in stock in Central Florida, though they are mostly silver, black or white. This is an improvement over 2015 when there were months where there were no Azeras at all in the local market. Maybe it's just the initial shipment and that will be it... or maybe Hyundai will actually try to improve sales of Azeras as the Genesis sub-brand leaves too big of a gap between the Sonata and the more expensive Genesis G80 that will soon replace the Hyundai Genesis.

My dealer now has eight new Azeras in stock. Two '15 models and six '16 models. Just fly in, free ride from the airport, $1.00 documentation fee and drive it home.

I'm not entirely sure what is going on but evidently they are trying to corner the market on Azeras. But they sell them right. I've bought five Hyundais at this dealership. No regrets.
