Thumbs up 2014 model release?

Has anyone happened to hear when the 2014 Azera will be making its US debut?

Why wait? Will there be any major differences between the 2013 and the 2014 model?

It seems very unlikely that we'll see any feature additions for the first 3 years IMO. I'd guess more like 2015/2016. Of course, there's the Kia sister car (Cadenza) coming out in the second quarter that seems to be feature packed (but may not suit your taste if you like the Azera styling).

I was just wondering because I am in the market to buy an Azera and with the 2014 models out dealers will be trying hard to sell off their remaining 2013 and (if they still have them) 2012 models. Possibly driving the older models down in price with an influx of supply via the arrival of the 2014 models.

IIRC, the 2013's just arrived last Fall, so I think you're a bit early for the end of year discount. Most likely no major changes. Usually the "year end" savings on most car lines are not that special. The Azera is not in particularly long supply. The Tech Pkg. cars are especially tight in most areas.

I will say that I just purchased a 2013 this month, and so far I am very happy with this car.

I purchased my 2013 Sonata last May so I suspect the 14s will be around in a few months. Always pays to get the newer model year unless you're getting a huge deal on the older one. The difference when you trade in a few years is worth thousands.

You probably won't see the 2014 Azera until September or October and to be frank with you I don't see any changes so they can keep the cost down.

The Azera lags the almost identical Grandeur in Korea by a model year or two. With the 2013 Grandeur having a different grille and the availability of woodgrain interior trim, there is a possibility that the 2014 Azera may have those changes and perhaps a few of the other things that are available on the Grandeur which are not on the current Azera.

Normally, Hyundai would wait a year or two, but with the Cadenza coming out they may want the Azera to compete a little better against it by making changes now. The grille and woodgrain would be changes that wouldn't increase their cost of production, so they are more likely than other changes. The new Avalon may also prompt Hyundai to tweak the 2014 Azera.

This is all just speculation. We'll have to wait until fall so see...

Car companies are moving quicker now to stay competitive on being able to move product. Change will only happen sooner than later if the model is NOT living up to expectation. I would say early 2015 at the earliest

I thought I'd bump this thread back to the top of the list now that we are in August and someone who works at a Hyundai dealer might get advance notice of when the 2014 Azera will make it to the dealers.

I forget when the 2013 model first appeared. It may have been delayed because the 2012 model came out late.

Anyway, if you learn of a verifiable release date for the 2014 Azera, let us know.
