I don't have any problem with it, but my wife is having a lot of trouble driving our new getz with the head rest in place.
She is reasobnably short and finds the headrest very uncomfortable, in fact makes her feel ill after a while. it pushes her head forward from a natural position. She has driven many cars in the past and has never had this problem.
Probably not a good idea to drive without it, thought of buying another headrest and bending the arms so it is not as far forward. Any suggestions, or anyone else have this problem?

If the headrest is jutting forward it may incorrectly have gone into the post-crash position. Supposedly, in the event of a rear impact, the head-rest pushes forward to reduce whip-lash injuries to the neck.

Ken, I live in Logan and also drive a 09 Getz.
I am also small and had the same problem.
Since it is actually illegal and dangerous to remove the headrests my solution was to simply lift them out and turn them around and replace them backwards.
Although it initially looks strange you soon get used to it and the safety factor is still there.

thanks Tony and Gramin
I did wonder if it was in the post accident position, but checked another Getz and it was the same. Also considered turning it around. Will discuss with dealer when I take it in for 1000km service.

Problem solved. My wife assured me she had tried different seat heights/settings, but has tried again, changed it to one I can live with too without having to adjust it when I drive, and she no longer has the problem.
