Getz 2010 fuel efficiency

Hi there, I am new to this forum. I am from Philippines. I just got a getz 2010 with a 1.1l gas engine two weeks ago and it has 38K on its mileage. I filled its tank with gas and only got 250kms to the 'no gas' warning light turned on.

I put in a new air filter and filled the tank again.. Then I reset the ecu by disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery for 30minutes before reconnecting it. Then I start it in idle for more than 30 minutes.

I drove it around the city traffic and now I consume a quarter of the gas in the tank. I estimated that I am getting 9km per liter of gas in my Getz. my question is, is this the normal efficiency of the Getz?

I was actually expecting more. Is their some more that I need to replace or do to get a better milage per liter of gas? In two weeks its time to change oil and I think I'll also change the plugs. I am wondering cleaning the MAS sensors... Will these help to make it more efficient?

Thank you very much for answering my questions. I appreciate any help...

Hi Ricky,

I've got a Get'z 1.1L Gas 2007 model it makes 15km per 1 litre of gas in city driving conditions....I learned from research that Getz model from 2007 up to 2011 on their 1.1 Gas engine has the same engines. Maybe your Getz need some tune up. My Getz at 90,000 Kms already still at 1:15 fuel ratio for city.....has good acceleration.
