Hi,
I have my Hyundai Getz 1.1G 2007 model(85,000kms milage) replaced it's timing belt at outside by a previously mechanic working at Hyundai service center. My question is it ok that he used a new timing belt and belt tensioner with a Mobis brand on it as a replacement not from Hyundai center but from a reputable auto supply here? He told me that Mobis is a sister company of Hyundai producing parts for Hyundai products. Is this true?
Can any one give me advice if it is ok ir not.

Thanks in advance,

Al Glenn

Hi Sir Montego,

Thanks for the prompt reply, I realized lately that a Hyundai car is a very practical brand for reasons that the availabilty of spare parts just like for the Hyundai getz you can buy anywhere on auto supplies way more cheaper than compared to Japanese cars but of the same quality. My hyundai Getz is already 7 years old but you can find no problem on it...still very good acceleration and the unbderbody of the car has no rust even running on tropical place in the Philippines.

More power to this site!

Bekt problems

Hi,

Also belt related.
I have a 1.4 on which the air conditioning failed this summer, I was informed that a new compressor was required.
However, the power steering has just failed too and I am beginning to think that perhaps there is a belt problem.

I feel pretty sure that the belt is responsible for the lack of power steering because it also makes a screaming noise occasionally, but am I wrong to presume that the air conditioning is also dependant on the belt?

Thanks,
Geoffrey
