Hyundai Getz misfire

Hi.
I have had my Getz since October 2013, it is a 2003 plate 1.1.
Around December 2013 it developed a misfire, couldn't remember the codes as I took it back under its 3 months warranty. They replaced the spark plugs and it seemed to have solved the problem.
However, the problem happened again last week (May 2014). It was a damp and misty day (typical conditions when it misfires), I was driving up a hill and all of a sudden the engine management light flashes (car engine started shaking/ loss of power), I turned the car off and the problem cleared and it has been fine everyday since, it has never cut out when it misfires. I had the car checked and the man told me that it had a multi/random cylinder misfire and a cylinder 2 misfire. He couldn't see the misfire himself so advised me to change the ignition leads and coil if it happens again.

Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be?

P.S:
Sometimes the car takes longer to start than other times.
When it misfires the engine rattles/ vibrates (but never cuts out).
The spark plugs have been replaced (don't think leads have been replaced).
It only seems to misfire in damp weather conditions.
It seems to misfire when engine under pressure (e.g. driving uphill).
The problem is only intermittent (happened twice since October 2013).

I hope I have been clear enough, this is my first car so I don't know much about cars.
Thanks.

I have Getz, similar issue with misfire in wet or even damp condition

on an Amica link in the forum, a mechanic suggested
1 air filter
2 plugs
3 leads
4 oxygen sensor

a number seemed to resolve it with Silicon Spray, on the leads to repel moisture, could be some electrical tracking in degraded leads through the moist rubber

Sounds like an ignition misfire to me.

They way I'd test is take a look under the bonnet at night when it's dark. Blip the throttle by rotating the pulley on the throttle body where the throttle cable attaches. See if you can see any little sparks jumping from the HT wires or from the coil. I'm pretty sure that's what your problem will be.

Another thing you could try is spray a mist of water on the coil and HT wires using one of those spray bottles with the trigger on it. That usually exaggerates the problem if that's what's causing your misfire.

Scottie.
