Hi,:):)

Here in the UK spares still seem to be okay, even some of the trim items, stock holding of those is running lower.

From what I can tell, service parts and none OEM parts are readily available.

Depending on the Purchase price of the car, I would say that the Getz, is by and large, reliable and as long as well serviced and looked after it should be a good, safe bet.

Besides, IIRC, manufacturers have to maintain spare parts for 10 years after its last production model roles off of the production line.

I hope that helps:)

Kind regards,

RB42:)

Hi Anand and welcome to the forum,
I bought a 2006 Getz GLE in 2011, and am still using it.

What I've found is that regular wear-and-tear spares for the Getz (air filters, oil filters, gaskets, belts, etc.) are kept in stock by HASS (Hyundai Authorized Service Station) in most cities. On the other hand, other parts are not always stocked for ready use, but need to be shipped from Hyundai Chennai (specifically their MOBIS division).

For example, when I replaced my headlights in 2012 (one was cracked, the other was faded/scratched) they had to source it from Hyundai's plant in Chennai. But filters, timing belts, tensioners, etc. were readily available.

I see you're in Trivandrum, which means you've got Popular Hyundai and Hilton Hyundai. Being a major city and in southern India, I'd be comfortable that they'll have reasonable stocks, and will be able to ship out stuff as needed quite quickly.

Another point in your favour is that the 2010 model you're looking at is a Getz Prime, and not the older Getz, which means that specific cosmetic parts will be in better stock (e.g. headlights/taillights).

I agree with Red Baron42, the Getz is a good car. As long as you get a well-maintained one - and keep it that way - you won't regret it. I've upgraded to a newer car, but the Getz still puts a smile on my face when I take it out.

Regards,
Arun
