Hello from Coventry, I'm currently running a KA but I'm looking at a Getz as a replacement, I've seen the thread on here about high mileage cars and have seen a few for sale, my question is how much of a bargain are the higher mileage cars? Cars with over a 100000 miles on are usually a lot lower priced than lower mileage cars, but how much of a risk is the higher mileage car? There can be a £1000 difference in the price which makes the high mileage car very attractive to someone on a tight budget.
well as long as you can see the log, and be sure that all the services has been done, on time and properly.. The condition of the car should speak by them self.
l bought mine with 100.000km on the odo.. at its still running as soft as new. changed all the filter on it, oil, and timming band when l bought it.. it still feels like new, everything working like a charm. !
Thanks for that jloyman, I know most of the common stuff but I was wondering if theres any thing specific to the Getz that I should be looking for when looking at a high mileage car, it does seem to be a long lived beast if its looked after. I know theres some nice high mileage motors about in general, my son's Civic has over a 100000 miles on the clock
Cheers Jollyman, I've brought a Silver 2003 Getz with 62000 miles on, very nice it is,Timing belt was done in 2009 at 42000 miles, looks like it might want changing again.
Just thought you maybe interested, my Getz has just done 304000 kms and just replaced wheel bearings and belts (for second time). apart from normal servicing its good as gold...
