It started happening about 2 months ago and is getting worse: the car doesn't start the first time when it's cold. The second time is always successful.
Battery has been replaced. I took the car to a service and they couldn't replicate the issue after leaving it in their garage for the whole night (which is strange to say the least because it's happening every single time after the car has been idle for 5-6 hours for me). Thus I've been told there's nothing they could do.
I did upload a video with the sound of the car when it fails to start. Would really appreciate if anyone could take a look and give any suggestions what it could be.
you do not state your location (always helpful when giving answers......please add this information to your profile) if its cold where you are this could be caused by the ETS (engine temp. sensor) which if faulty may not be activating the automatic choke. also when was the last time the spark plugs were changed?
I live in Australia east coast so cold means about 16 degrees at night.
The car was 60k serviced at dealership about 5 months ago, they did check/replace spark plugs I beliece.

you've got a bad connection somewhere would be my guess. in the lower temperature you may be getting condensation into an electrical connector or wire. a bad relay is another possibility.
fueling system is also worth a look as iana mentioned. maybe a tiny leak so that air is getting in?

Hi Zero, I don't think the temp is an issue, he lives in Brisbane which is kind of tropical compared to Canada... the 16 degrees he states is Celsius, not Farenheit as I think you use there and yep, the air leak
is a definite possibility.
