My son has a 2004 Getz 3 door with stock audio system. I am trying to upgrade the headunit and speakers. I have sourced a double din and am comfortable modifying the centre facia to fit.
I have some 6" fusion speakers that fit perfectly in the slightly modified stock plastic speaker housing.
My stumbling point is replacing the tweeters. The fusions speakers are component with a crossover.
After searching the web and this forum I'm struggling or answers.
Does the standard system have a hidden crossover somewhere? There are two wires going to to tweeter and two going to the door speaker.
How do I install the crossover with the standard wiring? Is it as simple as connecting the tweeter wires and the speaker wires together into the crossover input and the add new wires from the crossover outputs to the new speakers and tweeters?
Thanks in advance!
