Thumbs up

Hi,

Sorry for my first post being a question.

I would just like to know if I can use regular engine oil in my car. (2004 Hyundai Getz CDX 1.1 Petrol)

As I do not want to purchase synthetic oil if I do not have to.

Thanks in advance

- Ken

There is no need for synthetic oil unless you plan for real engine punishment (engine speeds over 5000 rpm most of the time), like rally racing or such.

Any mineral based oil with API clasification SH or above SG, in 10W-30 viscosity. It is good for weather temps from -25Celsius to +40Celsius. If you are planning to drive south to the Sahara in summer, then switch to 20W50. Otherwise, no need to change viscosity year around.

About brands. Castrol, Pennzoil, Quaker, Shell, Aral and BP are equally good. It all depends on availability in your area.

Your engine will take 3 full liters (or 3.17 US Quarts, or 2.64 Imp Quarts) with filter included. Always change filter with every oil change.

Thank You very much for that incredibly helpful reply.

Sorry it took so long for me to reply, I'm not very good at using forums.

Once again, Thankyou
