Whoever made car remote fobs without a sliding cover over the buttons needs to be taken outside and dealt a portion of common sense with a clue-by-4!
My OCD paranoid self popped out to check the car and found the trunk open. One of the fobs must have got squashed in pocket or handbag.
To be fair, it's not just a Hyundai problem - her Mini is unlocked half the time.
But a power-opening trunk adds a new dimension of interest...
So, immediate project to fix this... Maybe a faraday cage bag to keep the fobs in - but bulky.
Maybe take the fobs to bits and add some plastic under the trunk button - but that does not solve the possibility of unlocking.
So I'm going to see if I can find a little plastic case that can be modified to clip around the fob - just a little bigger than the fob. And either do that (after all, the car can be accessed with door buttons) or drill 3 x 1/2" holes in the case to allow buttons to be poked but make accidental operation unlikely.
If anyone else has had or solved this problem, interested to hear from you. Otherwise, if my search (and it may take a while to find the right little box) is good, I'll describe it. Would be a good one for Instructables...
