So you're looking for someone to give you a download link to the Hyundai's Global Diagnostic System, which costs a ton of money?

You need the right hardware, too... you're looking at $5k+ easily.

Actually if you can somehow "acquire" the GDS DVD, you DO NOT have to have a GDS computer, but you DO have to have the VCI to link the Laptop (of your choice) to the the OBD-II interface. So with the DVD you can have the GDS software on ANY laptop, but the program is still useless without the VCI and that will run you just shy of $2000.

There is no GDS link.. you need the start up up disc to get the basic software installed, then you need the misc discs as called out when it goes to do the internet updates to bring the works up to date.. the latest disc 12.00 I think the number is.. I have that disc saved here on home PC, but need XP Pro to get it to go.. then you need the VCI @ approx $2000, need a dealer code for the internet updates when the GDS program opens and pings the internet server for version check and download updates as they come down the pike.. then they'll decide you need to do another DVD disc before it will do internet update again..

The pics is laptops on my kitchen table, putting GDS in the small laptop, then onto my Road Runner for quick work of the download rather than through the Reynold provider at work which is slow. The 11.0 disc seen was a previous disc done last year.. GDS wil detect update, grab some of it, then prompt you to run the new disc before internet update can continue.. sometime it is couple day after before we see disc arrive at dealer.

I do have all the disc needed to start up..

Just to touch on that, you do not have to have XP on the computer for the OS, my laptop I have win 7 64bit and gds works just fine! I think they have all the OS stuff figured out.

Start up disc not load on my home PC, plain XP.. loaded fine on 2 XP PC in shop that hard wired to wall for ERA & internet.. use USB extension cord to get out of cabinet, then the long USB for the VCI,, no worry about laptop going dead in middle of program, as couple people in shop cannot figure out how to plug in cord to keep up battery in laptops.

Hi all,

New here and looking for manuals and software.

I have recently purchased an old GDS VCI. I guess it takes its power from the DLC cable.

This Link is dead and I have seen another link which directs to a website which seems to have been shut down by FBI or some other US authority!

Is there anywhere I can still get this information?

I have an old school mate that used to be master tech at Hyundai UK from memory but too afraid to tap him up! I haven't spoke to him in years. It would be a bit embarrassing to ask him for favours straight off. + can't even find a way of contacting him anymore.

I have a Hyundai GDS VCI Main Module and would like to know how to "acquire" the software that goes with it.

I only have a DLC cable with it and a USB connector. Not even sure if I need any additional cables.

Please can someone advise?

Yours in anticipation.
