Ok I guess most of you guys were right... I held up the "red" flaps and they don't look too good. I would install the red ones if they were actually more red and not a redish pink... Now the question is how to install them!? The rears seem to pretty straight forward drill holes and get a 90° bracket for the third hole. The fronts are going to be a little more difficult. All three factory holes can be use but you will need a "spacer" or something to fill in the gap for the most inside hole. Another problem for the fronts is the fact the flap will NOT sit flat against the wheel well liner. The liner gradually gets deeper than the edge of the fender so if mounted without modification the flap will leave a big gap between it and the liner creating a place for debris and dirt to accumulate. I will definitely keep this thread or a new thread updated with my progress if anybody wants it!?
I've ordered the black ones 8 or so months ago, just haven't gotten around to installing them. I did install the pre-drilled set for my partners 2015 XV crosstrek, they're great. I really like how they look. Hopefully once I get around to installing them on the GT I'll like them there too.
Yeah I like them and will post everything I used and try (didn't take many pictures) to make a how too. The only warning I have is DON'T install them too low. I ALMOST had an "You've got to be kidding me" moment. I drilled out for the front and took it with me to my school to see about the speed bumps and it cleared with an inch or so. I was like ok cool so ill try to do the same height for the rears. Didn't account for the farther back placement of the rear flaps and thus having a lower height going over bumps. Luckily I only brush the speed bumps and not hit them other wise I would have to redo them. Ill have the heights and everything in my "How-to" post.
Its just headlight armor precut to fit the GT. Right now they actually have a 12 year anniversary sale going on!
I have already chosen to use the black flaps but I agree with your opinion.
