OFF. I noticed I was revving the engine more with Eco ON, so I now turn it off and accelerate moderately.

i'm using Manual Transmission and set it always ON..
but,i keep my shifting style smoothly and never let the shift indicator displayed, either up or down..

for Manual transmission, try this tips and you'll amazed by improved fuel consumption

Eco mode is ON 99% of the time. The odd time I turn it off to "play around" a little.

Otherwise it's always on. If I need to pass or merge on the highway, I slip it into manual shift mode, down shift a couple gears then punch it. I find that's a much better and faster way of accelerating quickly vs. waiting for the ecu to notice I put my foot down. lol.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but active eco mode isn't available with manual transmission, no? It's just up to how you drive.

For our country version just like this:

and there's a number of gear displayed, either up or down..usually,the indicator displayed @2500RPM..
but,if you can drive smoothly, you can get a better fuel consumption-change the gear before the number displayed..it means that you change the gear before the highest or the lowest position..it's reduced your fuel consumption

eco mode just recommends what gear you should use in a manual. As soon as I left the dealers lot I had already turned it off and has never been on since.

I tried it on for 100% for two tanks, noticed absolutely no improvement in fuel consumption but driving dynamics took a very noticeable dive in my automatic, throttle was extremely unresponsive and irked me to no end.

My sales person himself told me it was pretty useless when I was still checking the car out in the show room, said realistically I *might* see a 1MPG improvement, 2 if I'm driving very conservatively but he said most drivers will not get better fuel consumption with it on and suggested I not bother with it.

Interesting... Going to try the next couple tanks with it off and see if there's a difference.

It does apply the throttle much slower then your foot does, especially on initial acceleration as that is where a good portion of fuel is consumed. But if you're gentile with it in the first place, shouldn't be much difference.

I think eco mode also changes the shift points (with auto) in an attempt to get into 6th as quickly as possible. I have actually witnessed a couple times it up shifted quickly to 6th, then went back to 5th without me changing throttle input. It's like it was over-eager to get to 6th then realized there wasn't enough power to efficiently accelerate in 6th, so it kicked back to 5th.

Would also be interesting to try a couple tanks using shiftronic (manual) mode, 100% of the time.

I have shiftronic, it is in manual mode all the time. I only throw it into auto when I'm rolling to a stop and it's about to downshift back to 1st gear by itself, the downshift to first is really jerky in manual mode so I avoid it by throwing it back into auto mode.

I think my fuel consumption is marginally worst in manual mode but it's a substantial improvement in driving dynamics. The auto is obsessed with getting to 6th as fast as possible no matter what which can get really annoying.
