My PA710RDS radio is stuck on LO. When using Traffic Announcements (TA) they only come up in the local area where the radio was originally tuned in. When travelling distances - no TA. I have to retune every 30 miles to get TA. Anyone know how to switch the LO off? Any other ideas?

I bought my i10 in February and have done 3800 miles, last week I had a high pitch noise when I was reversing the car, this got worse and when I took it to the local dealer they found that it was the wear indicator on the front pads and I have just had to pay for new pads to be fitted. The service manager was shocked that they had worn so quickly and referred it to Hyundai technical, he advised me to contact customer service. They just called to say that it is acceptable that the pads last just 3800 miles and they will not be doing anything to refund me. Much of my driving is on the motorway and my car is used to carry just myself and my 4 year old son, so not under load !!! Any advice gratefully recieved

ok guys, I think it'd be useful for us to rate the service we got from our dealers, and give people advanced warning of goo / bad serivce.
our of 10, I give:
Consitution Motors (Norwich) 4/10
I had a pleasent test drive, but reluctant to seel me a red i10 as they are "as rare as hens teeth" and "you'll be lucky to see one before Spetember". Also only offered £2000 scrappage, when other dealers were doing £2100 and £2200. But did offer to throw in mudflaps - that I'd have to fit myself. Poor people skills.
Turners (Bury St Edmunds - also a branch in Ipswich) 6/10
Bit misleading over deliver time, but when I asked to speak to the manager, they did make an effor tot give me an accurate delivery date - which was very accurate in the end. Becasue of misleading information, I can't say if this was innocent or outright lies.
Handover was great, and got a call a week after to check all ok. If it wasn't for inital dissapointment ovet delivery dates, they'd have got 8/10. Would use again. Good peopel skills....communiccation issues with Hyundai possibly.

I was wondering if I need to do anything servicing wise with my i10 before the 10k mile/12 month service. My dad said he thought that with new cars normally they ask you to come in after a few miles to check that there are no leaks and that everything is working ok. I can't see anything in the servicing book or the warranty information so wondered if there is anything I need to do.

Hyundai are aware that a NEW i10 clutch can shudder from cold if the car has not been used for a few days. However once warmed up it seems to return to normal. This may be less apparent as the clutch wears in. there is probably a alignment issue or even a driven plate quality issue here. Dealers will only recognize you have a problem once they have discussed this with Hyundai technical who will probably issue a bulletin soon.

Hi fellow i10ers !
I would be very grateful if someone could give me a lead on getting some rubber mats for my nice shiny new i10.
Having just spend what seemed like a fortnight sorting through loads of unsuitable carpet mats and too large "cannon "rubber mats at Halfords I am getting desperate . I think I found a recommendation for costco mats but there isnt one for miles from Bristol . Can anyone help ?

Having been running my I10 for the last couple of weeks on BP Ultimate (97) and getting about 47mpg I changed to Jets normal unleaded. After 2 tankfuls I noticed that my MPG was now down to 42-mpg. This is very disappointing. So I was wondering if everyone could post what MPG they are getting, the type of driving (city, open roads ect) I10 current milage type/brand of fuel used. This way we can see if some fuels suit the car better then others and indeed if the MPG improves with higher milage.
So for starters.
I10 Style 1.2
milage 1000 miles
Type of driving, open country back roads normal speed about 50mph. Journey 20 miles each direction.
Type of fuel used BP Ultimate (97 Ron) 47 mpg
Jet normal (95) 42 mpg
Air con has been used with both fuels. The weather has been very good.

Hi - I ordered an i10 Classic three weeks ago (using an old Seat Arosa under the scrappage scheme) with an estimated delivery date on this week. Now after contacting the dealer, they're now claiming August at the earliest.
Anyone else in a similar situation? I'm a bit gutted and the dealer hasn't been much help (they didn't even contact us to let us know about the delay).

I like many are waiting for a delivery of a new i10, due & promised by end of September. I'm told it landed on these shores on the 12th October still waiting for confirmation when it might appear at the dealer!!!!!!!! Having had many failed promises of calls back, lack of information i went in calmly to see the manager of the dealership & asked what he was going to offer me for the failure of his dealereship to commuincate with me. He offered me the polish package for free which they were very quick to write to me & offer it at £300 as soon as i put the deposit down as a way of an apology.
I would be interested what others have been given as an apology?

Hi Friends,
I am having i10 sportz (kappa) in India and the audio system is a built in with the stock.
But, this not having any remote and would like to know whether I can get an aftermarket remote for the same or any suggestions?
I don't want to change this stock HU and hence, looking for a remote.
Also, i am also looking for a thermometer-time kind of device, which can be fitted on the dash (similar to i20). I would really appreciate your suggestions in this regard too.
Kind regards,

Note: I have nothing to do with the website. I'm not advertising it. I would just like to see more Hyundai i10's listed!Fuelly.com allows its users to track their vehicles MPG. I've put my i10 up aready, as far as I'm aware, I'm the only i10 on there! You can search for me by the username Logan (or click my signature) ;)
Would love to see some more i10's for MPG comparrison. When adding your i10, you must select 'Other' from the model drop down and enter i10 in the box. Once the administrator has approved the model (I'm hoping this week as I put mine up a couple of days ago now) the i10 will show in the drop down menu.
Only 1 fuel up added for my i10 so far. Will keep adding more as and when I fuel up.
For those with internet enabled phones you can add your fuel ups by going to
http://m.fuelly.com

Hello to all, and yes I am now (almost) the proud ownder of a Hyundai i10 Style in Oyster Grey. Yes it's no new it hasn't even been made yet.
I went yesterday (Wednesday) to a dealer in Bedford and asked for a i10 that I could purchase today. Nothing available, all they had were the Classic and Comfort, and I'm also most certainly not having an auto (even if it was only available in the Comfort). So the chap there made a few phone calls and found a cancelation in the dealer in London.
So off I went to London and after taking all my car documents (as it was part of the scrappage deal) and secured my name on a new (it will be a late 59 plate) Style. And I'm sooooo excited!!!
CAn anyone tell me what accessories they would recommend as I haven't ordered any yet, that I can attatch to my car? Ta very much!!

i10 comfort.
We have had it since July and put around 2000 miles on the clock. No real problems to date apart from seat belt squeak.
But have noticed 'what appears' to be the fuel pump ?' switching off and on. I notice the pump noise ( similar to a windscreen washer motor ) both from the back and front of the car.
Any clues ?

I've read in the forum that the speakers with the i10 aren't that good, so before I hit the road I'm thinking about replacing the speakers (and possibly) the head unit.
Is there a forum topic that suggests this already? I might not be looking hard enough lol.
Can anyone recommend to me the best speakers and head unit for the job, money isn't really an issue but I'm not that electronically minded so wiring up new speakers (unless I ask someone else) could be a bit of an issue.
Also someone said putting insulation in the doors for noise dampening? Will this impare the window sliders? Or is there a special way of putting it in? I've ordered the style that has rear and front electric windows. Ta!

When you're chucking in your old car for a new one and you're going to take advantage of the scrappage allowance, you MUST take the following forms:
Log Book
Insurance Certificate
Tax Disc
MOT
Aparently the's been a lot of forgeries so this is to combat the total number of false claims made.
Also when you put a deposit down on your car, they can use the £2000 from your old car as the deposit. When you go to collect your car, take your new updated insurance with you.

I have to say I was not going to have a Silver car, too many on the roads would you wait?
I know, I know it's personal desicion but would be interested in what you think.

I've mentioned the woes of my i10 order in various threads but I thought the fact that Hyundai have fixed my old car for free to get it through an MoT is worth a new topic. I now know I 'jumped the gun' a bit and sold many parts off my old Cavalier because, well, it was going to be scrapped after all. (I ordered an i10 classic on 16th July). Sold the alloys (I had some old Astra steel wheels with just about legal tyres in the shed that fitted), rear shelf, stereo, rear panel, boot lock solenoid, electric mirrors and various other bits and bobs.
When the dealer told me that I may not get my car within the 4 month period, they MoT tested my car (apparently as suggested by Hyundai UK) to see if it would pass so that a car could be re-ordered. The old MoT ran out the end of August. I had to get a second-hand mirror for the driver's side from a breakers (£10). My research showed that you don't need a passenger mirror on a car for the MoT, nor a spare wheel, or a jack, or a stereo, or be able to wind the windows down or lock the boot!
I have just collected it, with a new MoT, having received some welding by the rear n/s suspension mount and a new brake pipe and handbrake cables. All free of charge too. A very long list of 'advisories' but that doesn't bother me. Ironically enough, my car is now showing 'at sea' apparently so may be on the Asian Dynasty docking on Monday. No rush to get it before the 16th now though!
The only real downside is that I have had to re-tax the car at my expense for any potential 're-order', but at £15.83 per month, it beats the buses I've been using for the last 3 weeks!
Shall I cancel the order now?

Rhetorical? It would be a bit churlish but I do now have a running car.
Naaaah. I still think it's worth getting the new i10, not just because the dealer have been so flexible over this (as have I), but because it is such a good deal. It will STILL only be £4995, + £35 for mudflaps, the only 'extra' I've ordered. Shame I can't now wait for a '10' reg, all scrappage cars have to be registered by Feb 28th, unless they extend it of course!

Hi all, the i10 is a great car and goes well, the only thing is the steering wheel is the one thing you have to hold for hours on end, I hate most diy attachments but a leather cover might be better than the cheap plastic material feel that mine is made out.

Hi,
Not sure if they post regularly on here but I wanted to say a big thank you to Limestone-Cowboy.
I did a Google search for i10s in stock and found a post saying that it looked like there were some in stock at Autoworld. I gave them a call and they had one i10 comfort in black which was exactly the spec and colour we wanted. From the initial order to collecting the car it was 11 days. It might have been a 350 mile drive from Cornwall to Chesterfield but it was worth it and I can't believe we managed to get one so quickly looking on here how long it is taking others.
Thanks again!

Hi All,
New member and first post here - Howdo !
About to take delivery of a Comfort model but I'd like to add reversing sensors. Don't fancy paying the dealer fitted price and am quite happy self install.
Looking back I've seen some previous messages on the actual installation but I'm wondering if anybody has any experience of the various kits available on the likes of eBay - any comments welcome.
I'm also wondering if anybody know what "kit" Hyunddai dealers fit - when I asked about it coming wit the car I was told it was locally fitted rather than in manufacture so I was curious to know if its a Hyudai specific kit or just left to the dealer to source as they see fit.
Thanks
FF.

I've seen winter tyres mentioned a few times on this forum and others. They seem to be popular in some parts of the States and European countries where they have cold winters, but is there any point in England? I do a school run which is mainly on little winding country roads which seem to attract frost and ice. Would winter tyres make a real difference, and is it worth the money for a complete set of wheels and tyres?

The software in Scan Xl only supports fuel consumpion using the scipt for a mass air flow meter, the i10 only uses the manifold pressure sensor, I need to make up a scipt to calculate fuel flow using the MAP pid from the obd2 socket using csantool mil.
If you are bored then we could have a crack at this?
http://www.obdsoftware.net/ have a good program called Touchscan that works first time, Scan Gauge 11 works, it must use a map data table for a 12 engine to calculate air flow rate, then calculate air /14.7 for fuel flow , its a hard one to crack as my maths is a bit rusty.

Just a week short of 5 months, and we are collecting it from the dealer next week, (Comfort auto).
I believe that the dealer gives you a "check list" prior to him signing it off, and I felt that there may be a common theme of missed points, amongst the 100 or so items on the list, that should have been checked on the PDI.
So, on the basis that there are more on order than are actually driving about on the roads, what should I be giving "special attention" to?

Am I the only one who thinks that supplying the I10 with only 1 years RAC recovery is a bit mean ? After-all the car has a 5 year warranty. So if you break down after the first year your repairs will be free but it could cost you a small fortune to get towed to a dealership. Come on Hyundai how about matching your breakdown cover with your warranty.

just collected my i10 after the dealer corrected the juddery clutch, which now seems to have gone away. However since collecting the car the tachometer sits at just under the number 1 on the dial when the engine is started, even when i do not have my foot touching the accelerator. Previously the tachometer was at 0 until I applied any gas. I would like someone to tell me if this is totally normal for the tachometer or not, even if just to put my mind at rest!!

I think most people have the squeeky seatbelt problem.
The answer is to prize off the black plastic part at the top of the seatbelt - comes apart quite easily. You'll see a spring inside which is the cause of the problem. Shove some grease in. Snap plastic cap back on. Problem sorted !

First post.
Firstly I love my little i10 very nice drive.
The only odd thing I get is that sometimes over speed bumps or very bumpy road I get a metallic noise which gradually subsides. I am trying to track it down, it sort of sounds how you might imagine a bit of loose exhaust to sound, fairly melodic not high pitched.
Anyone else had this ?

Hi, I picked up my new i10 Classic today. I really like it and can't see any problems with it so far.
One question though. When the engines running, it is very quiet inside the car but outside I notice a 'ticking' noise which gets faster if the accelerators pressed.
Is this normal for the 1.2 engine??
Cheers.

Hi Guys. A while ago, I bought one of those silver-coloured quilted windscreen shades for my Corsa. (only £1 from Poundland). I never used it for the windscreen, as the fittings were missing.
However, I have just discovered it makes an excellent liner for the boot in my i10 Comfort! Fits perfectly, and protects the boot from spillages from shopping etc!

Went to fill up with fuel today (for the third time since I had my 59 plate i10) and the fuel flap would not release. I tried over and over again but the flap would not budge.
Eventually I got a passer by to pull the release button whilst I pulled open the flap.
After filling up I contacted the dealer that sold me the car and they told me that they've had quite a few people reporting problems with the fuel flap release mechanism. They are fixing it tomorrow.
Any one else had this problem?

The silence of the Kappa engine is such that, apart from extreme wind conditions, the tyres are the most obvious source of noise that one encounters while driving. On some road surfaces the noise level is really annoying.
Replacement is a long way off yet (I trust) but I wondered if anyone had researched the issue and could already recommend tyres that were safe but quieter.

We left home at about 4.30am and got to Dover at about 6.30. Had one stop 'en route' (see...... speaking French LOL) to fill up and grab a coffee at Maidstone services. Our ferry (£17 return courtesy of 'The Sun')left at about 7.45 and we arrived at 10.15 local time.
We took a very leisurely drive down to Le Touquet using the D940, and there are some stunning views along this road. But a lot of the town was shut and we had just missed the market, so was a bit disappointed there. Then we drove back to Boulogne and parked up. Time for another coffee and then a tour of the Cathedral crypt. Had a quick stroll around the town and then it was back to Calais to get the ferry back to Dover.
Finally arrived home at 8.10pm.
I had only ever driven abroad once before and that was in a lhd car, so this was a new experience for me...... driving in the gutter. It was a lovely sunny day, the car performed flawlessly and driving in France was a delightful experience.
We had such a great day in our new car, I just thought i'd share. Oh, and if anyone else is thinking about doing something similar I'd suggest buying your 'driving abroad equipment' from places like Tesco's, Sainsbury's or Halfords at a push because buying on the boat is a lot dearer. You have to have a warning triangle, hi-vis vest (must be in the car and not the boot), GB sticker on the back end if your number plates don't have them and a set of replacement bulbs.

Well after waiting nearly 4 months (4 weeks of which the car spent at Tilbury!) i have my lovely i10
Its a dream to drive but i have a couple of queries.
My passenger side front light has condensation in it - only a small patch and although its mentioned in the owners manual is it common? and will it go?
and the other one - in the boot on the under floor storage unit the divider is held in place by black tape - has any one else got this?

Hi All,
I took my wife's i10 for a spin today and two questions:
Clutch biting point is very low. You must press the pedal very hard and it starts catching as soon as you move it from the floor. I have notice that when is fully depressed there is jump almost without any resistance when you start pushing pedal to the floor. Is that normal or I should get it regulated?
Second question is engine temperature. There are marks on the dial: 50, coma and 90. The temperature never gets to 90. It stops half way trough between the coma and 90C on the dial. How about yours i10s?
Thanks for all the suggestions.
