I am still driving on the fuel supplied by the dealer and, before I fill up, want to know if there are any brands of diesel that I should favour or avoid?
I read on a Landrovers owners site that BP is by far the best even though it is more expensive.
As this is my first ever diesel car I just want to be sure I am using the right stuff, or am I being pedantic?

I've had my i30 since January 11 this year, and I have never used water to wash it yet!!
I decided to start using the 'Meguiar's Waterless System' which I bought from Super Cheap Auto for about $50. Its VERY easy to use, and the car comes up looking great without a scratch on it. Have a look for what it is and how it works. I'll hold off using water as...

Hi all,
I have been lurking this forum for a few weeks while considering buying a I30.
First had a good look at one during the melbourne motor show looking for a good small car and couldnt go past the absolute bang for buck the i30 offered.
So im now looking at purchasing an I30 SX CRDi Auto with protetz pack, Steel Grey Metallic.
No other options except i will be...

hello all
I ordered my i30 SX CRDi last week, and now I have the three month wait ahead of me. *sulk* I don't know what to do with myself!! How long did it take you guys to receive yours? The salesman said they often quote 3 months but it is usually quicker than this. I sure hope so! Please post some more photos everyone if you can :-)
cheers,
Jess.

Howdy Folks,
Just bought the Wheels 08 Road Test Annual which has most of the 07 road test in it and a bit about upcoming models. Buy the odd Wheels and Motors and get the rest as hand me downs from a friend who buys them all.
My point is that apart from a very dismissive review in last years Wheels car of the year both of these magazines act almost as if the i30 doesn't...

Hi Everyone,
I have made PDFs of the results from these two sites but I don't think you are supposed to copy info from a website and share it without permission so it's probably best if I give you the links and let you take a look yourself...
Some of you may have already done this but it's interesting to change around the comparisons (it's also a good way to...

It only achived 4-star rating, while Kia's cee'd got the best 5-star rating. This must be a major dissapointment for Hyundai, because i30 is so important car to them!
It's a bad result comparing to Fiat 500 which belongs to mini class but got muuuch better results!
Hyundai should act and redesign it as soon as possible!

I know those two cars share some of the parts such as engine, platform, etc, but they look different. I would like to hear two things:
1. Did you compare i30 with Kia cee'd before you bought it?
2. Why did you choose i30 over Kia cee'd?
I'm not in the market for i30 or cee'd ao any new car right now, but i'm just beeing curious. ...

My dealer in the UK wants lots of £ to fit the Parrot CK3100. As far as I can tell - they are easy to fit if you can get to the back of the radio. I'm told you have to remove the dash.
Does anyone know how? What have other people done for hands free?
I'm in the UK.

I know that the issue of only one remote key is a sore point with i30 owners. In the months waiting for ouri30, I became obsessed with finding things on eBay which I could buy for the to-be new car.
I found a unique key available from the UK for just over $AU17 including postage. I had to have one, so went through with the purchase. The are still selling at the same price.

Hi Everyone,
Some observations with Pix that may be of interest to those who have ordered an i30. These great little cars have a lot of good features but I have just selected four for this posting.
1) The side mirrors are excellent. Aside from being heated (comes on with the rear window demister) they are also a good shape. Being deeper than most I find that I can leave them...

Back in about 1973 (now I am showing my age), I worked out a way of converting l/100k to mpg. It involves dividing the l/100k into a 282.45.
Example: 4.7l/100k
Now divide that into 282.45 and you get 60.1 (to the nearest single decimal point).
So that I wasn't leading you astray, as I originally calculated this figure over 30 years...

(see pic below)
Since I filled up (for the first time) 2 days ago I have covered 175 miles. The consumption meter is showing around 58mpg.
As the tank holds 53 litres why would the distance-to-go give me just 279 miles left in the tank, when quite clearly the petrol gauge is (correctly) showing just over 3/4 full?
By my reckoning 53 litres = 11.6 gallons, which at...

Anyone having poor fuel economy on Diesel 1.6?
Ours is back in on Monday for the 3rd time for more tests. We are only getting approx 36mpg around town and A roads.
Hyundai supposedly sending more tests for the service centre to carry out, car is only 6 months old and we have had it 2 months.

Hi, folks...I'm wating for a 1.6liter i30 (petrol engine) to be delivered. I'm a Canadian living in South Korea and though I speak a fair amount of Korean, nonetheless I've asked for an English manual, which they seem to be unwilling/unable to provide at this point. I gather that the 1.6 petrol model in England is basically the same as the one made here...
Anyone with a 1.6petrol...
