Hi Folks,
Dave has kindly parted with some of his own folding stuff to pay for our own domain....
The good news is...If it's ok with you guys...
We would have a better and easier to find web address

Does anyone know if there is a workshop manual available for the i30 yet or know when/if one will be available?
When I had my Accent I would go to but i30 not listed as this is US site.
With the 5 year warranty I wouldn't attempt any repairs but if anything does goes wrong I like to know what it is so I can compare my diagnosis with what the dealer says....

How can you tell when your car was built?
I have a sticky "plate" by the door latch, passenger side with letters and numbers on.
Is this the "build" plate?
If not where is it?
If so how can I interpret the info and find out when my i30 as built.

On my car it came with black underbody protective seal but where the exhaust runs by the rear wheel there is none, just the body paint.
The dealer check other cars they had on display and they were the same.
Is this the same on all I30's?

...the VW Golf TDI!
Drive had this to say about the i30 CRDi in summary:
The engine is world-class, the build quality good, the space efficiency of the design impressive and the pricing - as always - unbeatable. But the dynamics are flawed. A set of grippier tyres is needed, as is the Protectz safety pack. You will feel better about having your nearest and dearest in...

I've posted in other postings that I achieved some 69 MPG
I've just remembered that the on board computer was showing 57 mpg.
This is a discrepency of 12 MPG!!!!!!!!
Also, the distance to empty seem odd and based on my assumed averages it would appear that I'll be empty but will have just under half a...

On a few occasions over the last few weeks the radio (on FM) has stopped pumping out sound for a mega second. I put this down to cut in signal from the radio station.
But today when playing a CD the music stopped mid track for a few seconds.
CD has been played before and no problem.
Has anyone else had this?

Greetings, first post and all.
Over the last two weeks of ownership I have noticed that the i30 Diesel manual prefers warmer temperatures for fuel economy.
When the ambient air temperature is over 20 degrees C during the day, I can attain 3.8lt/100km for 500km.
Yet when the ambient air temp is below 5 degrees C at night, I can't get any better than 4.5lt/100km...

On another post I mentioned this issue. I have decided to start a new thread that deals specifically with this issue.
Problem
Twice since getting the i30 (7 days ago), it has failed to rev passed 3000rpm. It is stll drivable as it has normal performace up to 3000rpm. In fact, in 4th and 5th, we have never passed 2500rpm.
We have found in both instances that...

A few things I've noticed with my SR are:
*The lens covering the display for the music and radio info seems to scratch easily, but the one for the auto A/C does not...anyone else noticed this? Mind you they are only *very* fine scratches that you can see when the Sun is shining on the...

This posting may not apply to our Oz mates as a previous posting said that the Kia Cee'd isn't on sale in OZ.
Came across a posting on a Kia forum were owners were complaining that their car wasn't performing and had to have the ECU remap.
As the i30 and the Cee'd are based on the same platform and bits and pieces will this become an issue...

When driving, my turbo seems to "kick in" about 1500rpm no matter what gear I'm in. And before you say it not dress gear but mechanical gear!!
When in 1st or 2nd this has the effect of pushing me back in my seat. In 4th or 5th the pick up is instant and overtaking is a breeze.
Is turbo "kick in" factory set or can it be tweeked?

Hi all,
Just purchased an i30 in Australia and was looking forward to instant iPod compatibility.
Sadly here in Australia (as opposed to Europe/UK) we don't get the "Hyundai iPod full control cable' as standard. It commands $110 AUD as an option. But we do get a 512MB i30 labelled USB stick..... ? hmmmmmm
Can any current i30 owner post a picture of the...
