[FONT=Geneva][SIZE=7][COLOR=blue]After 3 years of trying to track down this smell, (mostly present in the summer months) I finally tracked down the culprit. IT IS NOT THE AC OR HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE AC/HEAT VENTS. THE SMELL seems to come from the vents but IT IS NOT THE VENTS -- THE PROBLEM IS 1 or 2 DEFECTIVE FREEZE PLUGS IN THE REAR OF THE AUTO. Look underneath the trunk (IF SANTA FE...

Alright, my lethargic little santa fe (in my humblest opinion) needs some open heart surgery, i.e. a new air intake. Not because it actually needs one, but because better gas mileage, acceleration, and a little extra power would be nice. So far it seems like it will be an easy setup. Remove the factory intake box and the like, and replace it with a 90 degree angle pipe, top for the intake, and...

I purchased a new keyless remote fob for my 2002 santa fe and followed programming instructions and eventually was able to program the new remote. But, I did not realize I had to program my existing remote at the same time. Since, I have retried programming both remotes many times with no success--the new one works, but the old one won't. The instructions were: 1) Locate switch under dash,...

A few ignition questions for those in the know please.....
1. I'm planning on replacing the spark plugs soon. I notice in the Owner's Manual it recommends the NKG or Champion Platinum ones...neither of which I can readily find. I have found the Bosch Platinum +4 ones that are apparently the right ones, but these have 4 "points of ignition" leading up to the end of...

Hi,
I have 2005 Santa Fe. For third time now my air filter is soaked. The first time I recall going through puddle and then learned from dealer air intake in driver's side wheel well.
So we've been careful around puddles now which is sort of ridiculous living in Pacific NW but...
The car stalled again on me the other day, I popped open the air filter box,...

Hi - changed my timing belt and spark plugs with wires recently. I found my car's overall noise levels (engine) reduced however the RPM jumps high (beyond 3000) whenever I am attempting to accelerate, even from full stop. Just wondering if this is normal? Someone told me to do a complete reset of the system , i.e. remove battery terminals, wait for 5 min and connect them back again. Basically,...

I own a 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe AWD with a 2.7L V6. The car has approximately 91,300 miles. (The warranty is no longer valid since I am not the original owner.) I had CEL on and Autozone said it's something with the accident sensor. Unfortunately, after taking it to Hyundai they said it's nothing and reset the CEL, I forgot the number. The CEL has again re-appeared and I am sure it's the same cause. Digging forums, I realize there are TWO accident sensors connected to the air-intake (FRONT) of the engine. Hi,
I have a problem with a bad smell (like a sick smell) when I first switch the Air Conditioning on. This lasts for about 5 minutes. I have a late 2002 UK 2.0 litre Turbo Diesel model (right hand drive). Is there a filter that needs replacing? If so where is the filter and how easy is it to access/change on my car ? Would appreciate any help on this matter.
Thanks, Dave.

Basically I'm importing my 2001 Santa Fe GLS from the UK to Australia and it will need to comply with their odometer requirements.
I need to know if there is a way to change the Odometer display from miles to km's without having to change the complete assembly unit? Also need to know if you can get replacement dial covers in km's too!
thanks

2006 Sante Fe with about 20,000 miles. CEL light is on for P0130-O2 Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1).
Thats the 02 sensor before the cat right? Its the one that you see when the hood is open and you look at the exhaust mainfold.
Would this be covered under warranty? Thanks

My SF is white with the standard grey lower trim- I believe it is grey on most two-tone models. I picked up touch-up paint from the dealer based on the vehicle paint codes. The white matches perfectly, however the grey touch-up is much darker than the existing grey. I also notice that no matter how long you let it dry, when you go over it with the clear coat is rubs off on the clear coat touch-up...

When I purchased this Santa Fe new, the clutch did not engage until it was almost completely depressed. The mechanic said he would adjust it. He did that and it then engaged about a quarter way up, which I was happy with. Its three years later and now when the clutch is fully pressed while in gear the auto keeps moving. Is there something that needs to be readjusted or is this a major problem?
